Evening Entertainment? Anthem

So I am doing what I normally do and checking on old itineraries in RCCL's cruise compass for a similar 5 night to Bermuda on the anthem as we'll be doing in a few months. There is not yet availability or opportunity to book the evening entertainment yet. But in looking at previous Cruise Compasses, the evening entertainment isn't scheduled as I'm used to. With DCL, it's as if they make sure everyone is able to see every show no matter their dinner seating. RCCL's seems off to me, there are no mid evening times for their "We will rock you" revue. It seems it's only 2:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.? That sounds strange to me for a headliner. There doesn't seem to be anything much offered on the 1st or 3rd night either. I'm looking forward to spectera's cabaret and The Gift presentations. but isn't that weird they're not offered two different times in an evening? I'm referencing like an 8:30ish time. And nights 1 and 3 seem to have nothing really going on. Maybe I'm just not used to how they arrange it? I guess I expected an equal shot at seeing everything no matter our dinner seating. Hm

99% of Bermuda stops are an overnight, is day three an overnight stop by any chance?

As for day one, the bigger ships I've been on often have a parade or something at some point at day one, I dont know if that's the case for you or not. But my last but one ship had a parade at 9ish.

The theatres are also bigger than Disney's, sure they won't fit everyone in if they all decided to go, but it's also not like Disney where at show times your only options are dinner or show, theres other things going on that keep people busy I.e. casino (one good thing about them lol)

Ah. Yes, day 3 is the overnight But I can't imagine we'll be off the ship after dinner I'll have to figure it all out . 97 days to go and still no entertainment in the cruise planner.

I’m just speculating that since shows on Royal can also be booked ahead of time it seems that they don’t really want to try and accommodate everyone. People would book ahead for the evening show and make it more like having theater tickets on land, a planned event.

No necessarily bad, just a different way to manage entertainment and the crowds - more options means less need to get everyone squeezed into the show. As mentioned there are plenty of things going on especially with the oasis and quantum class ships. There are lots more dining options, a few more bars, casinoand the zip lines, golf, pools, slides, northstar, etc. most people will already have to eliminate choices, like the shows, if other items are priority for them.

If you are expecting Disney level entertainment, prepare to be disappointed. The shows are timed around MDR seating times. Day one, the cast is busy with muster duties and the welcome aboard show is very basic to reflect that. You really don’t have to prebook anything other than the comedy venue and the water show. Plus it’s only a 5 day. Raise with the focus being on the overnight port stop. You will find most people do get off for dinner and late night entertainment in town

I disagree about the entertainment not being "Disney level". I have seen two Broadway shows, We Will Rock You and Hairspray on RCCL ships, and they were Broadway quality. I am a theater person and have seen many, many shows over the years. I love Disney, but their actors merely sing along to pre-recorded music and there is no live music at all. Even their "bands" by the pool are just lip syncing and playing along to pre-recorded music. I would much prefer to have all the live music and shows that RCCL offers.
