My daughter and I do this every trip- while my husband "drinks" around the world. Our favorites in each country:
Canada- Maple Sugar- 5 maple leaves in each box
UK- Cadbury Curly Wurly, Crunchie and dairy milk caramel, Tavener's licorice allsorts
France- Maxims de paris candy squares- white, milk and dark
Morocco- turkish delights with almonds
japan- anything gummy and pocky, we especially love the sushi shaped gummys and tiny lollipops
Germany- toffifay, harobro gummy bears, and EVERYTHING in Karamell Kuche!
Italy- you can get individual pieces of chocolate here- we stock up and one of everything!
China- shocking poppin candy
Norway- Kex chocolate bar
mexico- chocolate con leche bars

love the ideas...I'd like to drink around the world myself...lol.
I saw on that DFB article that the Norway pavilion had licorice coins. Does anyone know if they have a variety of licorice? And is it like the salty licorice that can be found in the Netherlands and Denmark? (I don't normally like licorice much, but I've seen a few travel shows where they feature salty licorice and I'd like to try some.)
Also, does the Canada pavilion have many Canadian-made candies (the DFB article said they have a lot from the U.K.) that AREN'T maple? I LOATHE maple flavor.
Karamell Kuche! Thats the caramel store in Germany so good.
Tips:
- you can ask for their candy apples to be cut. They will cut them into 4 and put it into a nice plastic container. Much easier for sharing!
- their caramel corn, made from werthers, is the best ive ever had. Amazing.
I didn't notice the licorice fish. I'll have to remember to look for them when we're at wdw in July.Someone above mentioned maple leaf candies in Canada. And if you look in the photos from the DFB article - the one with the licorice coins - there are some salty licorice fish off to the left. I adore licorice, so I might try these.

Prob just a misread, but I was asking about non-maple candies. I can't think of a worse flavor than maple.
Real maple is the worst, but I also can't stomach fake maple flavor. Also to be completely fair 'maple flavored' and 'made from or with maple syrup' are two very different things and taste very different... but I can see how not liking one would mean not liking either. I can't remember any other Canadian candies in the shops - it's not where I spend too much time as I can buy them at home.
