Earmarked Status?

Does anyone know if there is a way to report an Earmarked travel agency to Disney for their “not so magical” business practices. I wonder if Disney would give out these awards if they knew how some of these places were actually run.

"Earmarked" isn't an award. It means a travel agency has made a certain amt of sales (high) and attended continuing education classes.

There is a lot more to it than that, actually. There are rules & guidelines in order to qualify. They “level up” in status so to speak based on sales, yes but they also get perks based on sales. They are also supposed to be following a code of ethics.

I don’t even know where to start. A lot of it seems to be coming to the surface lately, but pretty recently they fired a bunch of agents and the remaining agents who took over the bookings really dropped the ball on several vacations. Someone needs to be held accountable (the agency owners are ignoring the mistakes, blocking calls, not helping to fix it at all) and calling guest services hasn’t helped; not sure where else to look.

oh & they’re not registered with the BBB, I looked there already.
 
Do you know who their district manager is? Maybe report to them.

I don’t know if there’s something similar to BBB in your state. What state are you in?
 
No business is required to join BBB as it's a for profit organization. In NYC, hardly anyone joins.
If you have a specific complaint, make it writing to the company's brass and cc Disney's comparative department.
Yes - that’s true of the BBB everywhere and a little-known or understood fact. Belonging to the BBB is purely a marketing tool and as an organization, they are not objective in their representation and have no actual enforcement power in dispute resolution beyond what their members agree to. It’s meaningless, really.

And they try to shake you down for $$$ for the privilege of joining their organization.

It's destined to go the way of the dodo - I doubt very few consumers under the age of 50 even have an awareness of the BBB. Rating and review platforms on-line carry the day now, and few of us anymore make buying decisions without googling the company.
 
Are you a customer whose booking is bring mishandled or a fired agent?

What state is the agency in? I can tell you from experience with a prior agency, Disney does not care and will not get involved.
