DVC DIRECT Add On Points Thread

I know a few of us are often checking the DVC site to see if there are changes to the Add On prices or availability. To be clear, these are "add-on" points only available to CURRENT DVC Members. Minimums are typically 100 points for NEW members (150 to get Incidental Benefits). Direct Add-On requires you add on to an existing Membership in the same Use Year.

With this thread, people can comment (which notifies those following the thread) when there are changes.

If there is an update I'll add the date. If someone has "history" notes for price increases, please share them and I'll add them. Note, I'm not putting details on the "deals" on page 1, but feel free to post a comment for updates, corrections, deals, or actual availability. Please quote a source, or add a link, if you can (although the Disney bus driver HAS been known to be correct on many occasions lol).

Does anyone have the "last" prices for Polynesian and Grand Floridian, preferably with the last date available, and I'll add that to the information on page one of this thread.

I know LOTS of people will be excited to know when Poly or VGF come available again (or when there seem to be more Grand California points available (technically, available now?). Please feel free to share what you know in the comments!

Current minimum for new buyers to purchase is 100 points, even though incentives don’t usually start until 150.

To qualify for membership extras, you do need to get to at least 150.

I have not seen an updated price for VGF since it was declared sold out…and for PVB its was $250.

Thanks, I added that info from both you and Sandisw, although that pdf link did not work for me from my phone - we might need to be signed on to DVC for it to work...

And as to Grand Floridian availability and pricing ... I have been told by my Guide there is no VGF available, but it looked like something with Disney as Grantor (160 points at $220?) recorded on 5/13/2024 (notarized 4/29). I was told (random Facebook statement - not from DVC) that DVC Direct deeds show the recording tax on full retail and don't reflect the discounts/incentives given at closing.

Maybe someone better at reading recorded Deeds can see if that looks like a direct sale?

You are reading it correctly. 160 points sold at $220 per point, which I am pretty sure has never been the price of VGF. Apparently sold in April to an existing owner. Doesn’t appear to be in any way a reworking of that owners previous contracts, seems totally new. Sold while the resort is officially unavailable.

I’ve got no ideas.

Thanks! That link included the info below, which I found interesting ... I assume minimum points were for "new" sales and not "add on" sales but the prices should be correct for both.

March 27, 2019 - Sales begin at Disney's Riveria Resort at $188 per point (minus incentives) for current DVC Members. Sales for new buyers will begin April 15, 2019. Riviera Resort will open to guests December 16, 2019.

June 6, 2019 - Pricing for DVC Resorts - $110 VB (75 pt minimum), $121 HH (75 pt minimum), $156 OKW (50 pt minimum), $160 SSR (50 pt minimum), $176 AKV, BRV (100 pt minimum), $188 AUL, CCV, RIV (100 pt minimum), $190 BWV (100 pt minimum), $225 BLT, BCV (100 pt mininmum), $235 PVB (100 pt minimum), $245 VGF (100 pt minimum), $260 VGC (100 pt minimum).

January 29, 2020 - Pricing for Disney's Riviera Resort - $195 (100 pt minimum).

Looks like new Summer incentives are out this morning for the four Active resorts (not sure yet if the same or better), and now there is a note "Special Offers Ask A Cast Member" for Animal Kingdom, Bay Lake Tower, and Saratoga Springs. Don't hold me to this but I "think" the deal for AKL, BLT, and SSR starts at $10 off per point at 100 points minimum.

I noticed this morning the formal DVC site shows the Summer Special Offers thru September 30th - is that an extension or are there new incentives? I noted the Add On Points pricing (before any incentives) has NOT changed, and is still missing Poly and Grand Floridian in the Add On Tool.

That’s the same. The only thing that ended yesterday, I believe, is the Disney Visa extra.

The other day I noticed the Add-On Tool was gone from the menu in the DVC area. I haven't been able to get back to it since. Thought that was interesting. But sounds like others are still seeing it?
