We read stories about rooms not being ready until 6pm sometimes…. my wife saw that and laid down the law that it was overlapping nights or no split stay…..

If you have a car and have something fun planned it’s not too bad to be homeless that day for a few hours. We usually use that time to raid the character warehouse stores and stock up on an insane amount of retail therapy. I’d offer up unlimited use of the chase card as an alternative and see what the answer is. It could end up costing more than the gv for the extra night.

MS mentioned to me that MB+ would likely not work at GF on the overlap day.

We've done the overlapping booking in the past, and will do it again in the future, and can confirm there will be MDE/MagicBand issues.

Usually a stop at the front desk of a resort can get at least one MB working per person, though.

I just told her what the rental value of the extra night is and she said “if we can’t afford it then you should have not booked a split stay or we shouldn’t be going on the trip”…. So… I’d say that settles it….

This is one of the few upsides to how behind DLR is vs WDW. They don’t seem to care at all about overlapping stays. At WDW when I’ve tried to do this I just have my alter-ego using the alternative Spanish version of my first or middle name check in and it works well…. Heck half of my family and friends use that name anyways so and the CMs never even give it a 2nd look.

On the topic of insane thoughts and crazy things we consider doing in this “club”…… One thing I’ve considered doing is booking the whole family at a lower point chart resort like SSR but booking “crash pads” at some of the resorts we love such as Riviera, CCV, etc. during the trip to stop by for mid-day nap, to get away from the madness, etc. When you are already booking 1800 to 2300 points worth of rooms for a family reunion what is a few hundred more for the fun and convenience?

I think the issue is that the “mid day nap” is before check in time.

I noticed the sorting got messed up when the list was last updated. Hopefully will go back to descending order like it used to be on next update. Essentially 2-9 and all the ties are out of order (they are ordered like text instead of numbers) but rest are in descending order.
