DVC “Confessions”

310 (210 at BLT, 100 at BCV), which can get us about a week in the winter in a 2 bedroom in either of my home resorts during my state’s coldest months (ie, when I want to be in Florida). And if we don’t use the 2 bedroom, my BLT contracts can get us a week in a 1 bedroom and my BCV contract can get us six days in a studio. So we have options for different trips with different numbers of people!

I love that borrowing is an option too so we can have double points when needed

If we ever go to visit Universal we will probably try out Saratoga. My kids are very interested in Universal.

Staying at portofino, royal pacific or hard rock gets you the free universal express passes which can be worth more than the room depending on number of people!

We are staying at portofino in September and paid on average $330 a night, express pass paid for itself!

We are staying at Royal Pacific for 4 nights before our Nov. AKV trip. Agree about the express pass! This may become a new tradition.

We bought a RIV FW and will not have used it over our 1st three years (we have stayed at other resorts/times).

My first DVC confession is that we bought our first contract in February and my husband and I talk about it like it’s our dirty little embarrassing secret. We have Disney loving family with whom we travel with sometimes and we’re probably not going to be able to keep it a secret forever.

We are visiting family this week and just about 10 min ago Im packing and asked my husband if he's wearing a hat this trip, he joked "if I can I wear my DVC hat" I said absolutely not!

I brought a couple of those cute Dumbo DVC magnets home from our spring break trip. Hubs was like…you gonna take that off of the fridge before family come to visit?

LOOL. I just told my coworkers fairly soon after buying…”so…I decided to make a horrible financial decision and buy a used timeshare…”. I told my mom too, and to my surprise she thought it was a great idea and wanted to travel with us. I won’t tell my in laws. They’re great but they would think it’s frivolous, I am certain.

Another confession...we are not a long drive, which means we have been doing weekends. Brand new to DVC at the end of 2024, but didn't stay in 2024, so rolled over all our points...and I think we are VERY close to hitting all Florida resorts in 2025! We have either a 1 or 2 night stay at every resort except copper creek and fort wilderness booked. It's starting to feel like an addiction!


Which brings me to my next one...haters of SSR and OKW are crazy! Both resorts were great! I'm glad we started with them though as they will end up towards the bottom I think, but would stay at them again any time!

Just do what I do and tell your family you're renting points

When a family member makes you mad, just have the "renter" somehow forget to add their name to the reservation.

Everyone knows we have DVC because I have no chill in saying no when they ask to use it

If you've all of a sudden taken an interest in us and weren't an active part of our life before, the answer is no

We've had a couple of people pop out the slime with the "i miss yous" and "every time we think of Disney we think of you gals ", but we just find it comical! I'm so happy and proud we get to share the magic with our true extended family we are close with that otherwise couldn't afford it

We kept it our dirty little secret for a while, until my wife slipped and mentioned it to her sister, who blabbed. Last year we took the sister, the nephews and the grand niece. This year we're taking another niece. Next year we have plans to take another relative on that side of the family. I had to buy an extra 125 points to extend all this generosity! So, definitely keep it a secret!

We kept it a huge secret in the beginning for all the same reasons. Eventually it made it out to our families by one of us slipping and then finally when I actually met some family for a joint trip and ended up using the discount at a merchandise then for dinner.
