Santa wraps here. If it is a really large or odd shaped gift -it might get a bow...::yes::

Both growing up in my family, and then when I had my own kids, Santa only brought each child one gift, usually the most exciting/wished for item and they were front and center, and never wrapped. Of course, he filled the stockings, too. Other wrapped gifts were from Mom and Dad.

That is exactly how I grew up and how we do it for my boy. There is nothing more exciting than running into the room and seeing THE THING, whatever it may be, that you wished for from Santa.

Santa wraps in our home!! All the gifts! Usually my husband will help but this year I did it all myself. I wanted to be able to fully relax on Christmas Eve and watch Its a Wonderful Life. Past years we couldn't enjoy it as we were wrapping gifts after the kids fell asleep. I am so happy I got all of it done and out of the way. Feels great not to procrastinate. :)

Santa brings one present, unwrapped, left under the tree as we sleep on Christmas Eve. It is always the most desired gift! He also brings the stocking gifts; we leave empty stockings out on Christmas Eve for him to fill. Sometimes stocking gifts are wrapped, sometimes not, and occasionally they are wrapped in foil as it makes for a tape-free, easy wrap :good vibes . Santa is a busy boy some years! Although we (me, DH, DD) find our stockings laid under the tree (no mantle/fireplace for hanging) on Christmas morning, when I was a kid Santa left them on the foot of our beds, and it was OK to open them when we awoke. They always had a can of mandarin oranges in them, and at least one can opener. Crafty Santa! This guaranteed our parents a little extra sleep time, or at least the opportunity of a little "lead time" so they were up to take us out to the tree for Christmas morning!

All the other presents are from family and friends, and are placed, wrapped, under the tree as they arrive or are wrapped. Sometimes this means there's a pile of tempting packages to help build the anticipation towards Christmas morning for several days/weeks; sometimes, they appear during Christmas eve as the wrapping is finished.

The year before Santa started wrapping everything, he didn't want the boys to peek before they woke us up so he wrapped the LR doorway!! All the bedrooms were down a hallway with their rooms closer to the LR than our's. So, to make sure they had to wake us up before they went in there, an entire roll of wrapping paper was used to cover the doorway. And a big bow in the middle. Younger son came running into our room saying "uhhhhh, Mom? I think Santa gave us the other end of the house." :rotfl2: It was so funny, they were nervous about tearing it down!

This made me laugh out loud! :)

Santa does NOT wrap here.

Growing up, Santa didn't wrap at either my house or my DH's house. So it was never an issue for us - we just continued the tradition w/ our kids!

We both received wrapped presents from our parents & other family members.

Santa's gifts don't come in boxes - that's how you find toys & things in store, but NOT in Santa's workshop! The elves put the toys together, Santa gathers the toys in his bag, & then delivers them to the children! Santa's gifts are coming straight from his workshop, you know! And, as kids get older, the gifts come from different areas of his workshop - some of DD's gifts are coming from his makeup department.

So, yes, Santa's gifts come already assembled & ready to play & all are displayed in a pretty arrangement - much like a window display, as another PP described. So exciting!!

And it continues w/ our children! :goodvibes

We have 3 kids, so each child has a Santa arrangement in our family room on Christmas morning. Plus, Santa normally leaves a family gift beside his cookie plate & empty glass of milk.

I love setting up their Santa gifts on Christmas Eve & making it look fun & pretty. And there have been many a Christmas Eve where we've been up rather late putting together toys - that's part of the fun too! I remember one year some kind of Barbie house or something that took us FOREVER to put together! LOL!

It's so exciting & fun to run downstairs on Christmas morning & see all your Santa gifts!

Wrapped gifts are under the tree & are from family members. As soon as I get them wrapped, they go under the tree - I like how pretty the tree looks w/ wrapped presents under it & want to enjoy the wrapped presents a couple of weeks before Christmas.

Like we did as children, our kids receive gifts from Santa & from us - they normally have about 6 gifts each to unwrap under the tree.

Stocking gifts are not wrapped either - I like to leave a little something sticking out of the top of the stocking too.

They normally look through their Santa gifts, then we unwrap presents, & we finish w/ our stockings. (Santa leaves presents in everyone's stockings - mine & DH's too!)

And, as an aside, in most movies & books w/ Santa, Santa leaves unwrapped gifts - he's always shown pulling unwrapped toys out of his bag & leaving them for the kids. ;)

Santa wraps everything at our house, right down to tiny stocking stuffers. This year, we are hosting a Christmas Eve party, and I work a 12 hour night shift 12/21, 12/22, 12/23. Santa is planning to be completely done wrapping by 12/20 this year, along with scrubbing the house. :(

Yes. And he uses Santa Claus paper which is not to be confused with mom and dad paper which we usually use Disney characters.

Yes, everything is wrapped. I had never heard of unwrapped santa gifts before the Dis...

Well, have you ever seen a movie or read a book w/ Santa in it? ;)

I'm thinking... and the only movie (or book) I can think of where Santa gives wrapped gifts is in one of "The Santa Claus" movies w/ Tim Allen. In the movie, Santa gave wrapped gifts to adults at an office party.

I have a plate commissioned by Coca-Cola displayed on our mantle. On the plate is the Coca-Cola Santa Claus, & he is in front of a Christmas tree w/ unwrapped toys - he's playing w/ a helicopter that he brought to the home.

I enjoy reading everyone's traditions! And, like you, I'd never heard of wrapping Santa gifts until the DIS. ;)

ditto for our family.

Santa wraps everything. I've heard of both though...Santa wrapping and not wrapping. I was surprised to hear that someone has never heard of Santa wrapping gifts...I find most movies and books show that Santa wraps. From The Polar Express to It's a Wonderful Life along with the book Twas Night Before Christmas which I'm lucky enough to own several different copies of...I collect them. What's important is what you tradition is!

Santa brings one gift for each person in our house and fills the stockings. He wraps and even wraps a couple of things in the stockings. He uses different wrapping paper and tags than Mom and Dad. In fact DD10 said to DH last week that she knows Santa is real because he uses different paper and tags than we have.

Santa wraps the gifts in Santa paper. I think wrapped gifts add to the excitement. We also wait until the kids are asleep before putting any family presents under the tree. It's always made for a magical morning for the kids to see a room full of wrapped presents and the excitement of opening each one.

Santa wraps! When the kids believed, Santa also used different wrapping paper than Mom & Dad used, too. I don't know if they ever noticed, but I wars ready in case they did.

Santa mostly wraps here. One weirdly-shaped or needed-to-be-assembled item is usually front and center without wrapping, but the rest of the gifts are wrapped (and in different paper than "ours" when DS was little). Stocking gifts are not.

When I was a young'n, Santa didn't wrap. Then I heard that Santa wraps the gifts. At one point, my children and I would set out wrapping paper for him to choose from. In later years, he had different wrap than Mom and Dad. Santa or St. Nick doesn't wrap the small items in the stockings. Also, Santa brings three gifts like the Wise Men. :santa:

Yes, everything is wrapped. I had never heard of unwrapped santa gifts before the Dis...

Same here! When I was little, the only gift Santa didn't wrap was bicycles. They were in front of the tree with a big bow on them. Oh, and Santa didn't wrap the black Lab puppy I got when I was five years old. He was in a brown box with a red bow around his neck.

Santa brought and wrapped everything. And, if for some reason Santa brought a sweater or something along with the toys, that was always from Mrs. Claus. She had different wrapping paper than Santa did.:scratchin

I continued the tradition when my dd was little. Santa wraps all gifts, stocking stuffers and pet gifts.
