I was reminiscing about these cartoons with people in my age group (early 40's) and they all looked at me like I had two heads. Do any of these old cartoons show on tv?

I remeber all of them...I don't have cable so I can't ay if the re-run anywhere.

I do miss Pete Puma though. And The other cat, who alwys did the "Exit. Stage right." Who was that cat??

Was it Snagglepuss?
I too remember Touche Turtle but not the others. I used to love Quick Draw McDraw and Babalouee too!

"Wally Gator is the greatest alligator in the swamp" ... do you remember the rest?

Boomerang shows Wally Gator, Touche Turtle, Magilla Gorilla, Squiddly Diddly and Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har. I wish they showed Super Chicken and Tom Slick for that matter (Kind of like Dudley Doright meets NASCAR).

My kids have started getting into Boomerang. It's nice to have them watch the same shows we watched while growing up.

Wally Gator and Super Chicken were ones I remember. And yes, the song "Wally Gator, he's the greatest alligator in the swamp,,," immediately jumped into my head, but I can't remember the rest of it.

And that hysterical "Call for SUPER CHICKEN..... BWWWWAAAAAACK!" It's a wonder I have a brain left!

When you find youself in danger,
When you're threatened by a stranger,
When it looks like you will take a lickin', (puk, puk, puk)
There is someone waiting,
Who will hurry up and rescue you,
Just Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)

Fred, if you're afraid you'll have to overlook it,
Besides you knew the job was dangerous when you took it (puk, ack!)

He will drink his super sauce
And throw the bad guys for a loss
And he will bring them in alive and kickin' (puk, puk, puk)
There is one thing you should learn
When there is no one else to turn to
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, puk, puk)
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)

I remember Wally Gator and Touche Turtle and I still watch them. :) We have digital cable so we get the Boomerang channel. :)

My DH loves Super Chicken! Whenever we say, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it" and always add "Fred!" to the end - people look at us kinda strange.....

And he loves singing the Tom Slick song too. 'With his Thunderbolt 3Clapper he is on your tail......"

DS haas started watching Boomerang. We'll have to catch the words to Wally Gator next time it's on....

I'll have to check if we have Boomerang! I think we may have had it on satelite, but we just switched to cable - darn!

squiddly diddly, winsome witch, atom ant, inch high private eye, hong kong phooey, grape ape...... I remember them all!

Now if only Hanna Barbera would release them on DVD!!!!

Where, oh WHERE can I find old Super Chicken episodes?? That is the most hilarious cartoon ever written.

Super Chicken: "Quick Fred, get the Super Sauce!"

Fred: *in bored voice* "One olive, or two?"

I think Fred must have been the first gay cartoon character.

Does anyone remember an episode where the big "F" on Fred's sweater was backward? I distinctly remember this, but can never find anyone else who saw it.

I remember Super Chicken. Fred was definitely gay. SC was always shown with Tom Slick and George of the Jungle. Now I have the Super Chicken theme in my head....LOL!

I also remember Wally Gator. Does anyone watch Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law on Sunday Adult Swim on Cartoon Network? They're in the midst of a new season. The first episode of the season was Wally Gator being sued for being a reckless redneck and breaking environmental laws with his speedboat and endangering protected species. It was a riot. Last week, all the villains that Birdman had injured during his superhero days filed a class action lawsuit against him..... :rotfl: If you watched all these old cartoons, then you'd probably enjoy Harvey Birdman. Some of the best cases have included Droopy suing for Medical malpractice after his Botox injections went horribly wrong. Then there was Yabba Dabba Don where Fred Flintstone is a mob boss on trial. One of my all time favorites is Shaggy and Scooby on trial when they got busted for apparent drug violations and a high speed flight from the police in the Mystery Machine. :rotfl2:
