Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

What are the odds this will be open by mid June?
Having just returned from 3 weeks and the BCV I would say zero. We did speak with some of the lifeguards (AKA bus drivers) and found out that there are areas around the pool that still have water and are leaking but they can't find where the leaks are coming from so they can't empty the water and begin the fix in those areas. It seemed that they were running about two weeks behind. They mentioned that new hires were given later start dates and anyone requesting to work at another pool was able to do so in a limited fashion.

I can only speak for the Dunes Cove pool, but after 1:00pm on a warm, sunny day good luck getting a seat. I think this will get more difficult as the weather starts to get warm consistently every day. If you are used to this pool being quiet please temper your expectations from previous visits. There are also a lot more people in the pool and hot tub later in the evenings and therefore you can hear more if you have a pool view room. just my 2cents

Lounge didn't get any bigger. Just a fresh coat of paint and carpet. The back area looks amazing with wooden tables and bench seat. The colors are beige, blue and white. There's a blue ceiling in part of the lounge.. i was hoping they would have enlarged the lounge. Coffee machine in same location, right by the door.
The rooms got new paint and some of the wallpaper in the vanity area. Same bed frame, dresser and night stand. There's a pretty carpet under part of the bed. I didn't have my phone with me, so no pictures. I was hoping for a little more.

Thanks so much for the descriptions.

Did it seem like they got new mattresses?

Any thoughts on an April stay at YC or BC? Meeting the extended family for a week at BWV but was going to add a few days on at the beginning to get some (quiet) pool time in. I’ll need to work a bit during the stay as well. Will the quiet pools have any chance of not being crazy with the SAB refurb? Any construction noise to worry about during the day taking video calls (in room)?

Was initially looking at the S/D to get some Marriott points but the basic rooms are sold out and what’s available is pushing Resort View at YC/BC pricing. Other option is BWI which I didn’t really want to do with the week stay at BWV after it.

Thanks so much for the update. I will take some pics when I get there in the end of March if someone has not done so. I would be interested to see if the servicing area was upgraded especially if the hot plates are different and types of offerings.

Please tell me they didn't touch the desk with rolling table. We love that feature. Also, did they replace the sofa bed or no? The sofas in our rooms on the 4th floor in January were looking a bit stained and tired. Did they keep the adorable curtains?

Any new artwork? Was hoping for a little more Mickey in the rooms.

Stormalong Bay Construction Work at Disney’s Yacht Club Gets Loud with All-Day Jackhammering

A sandy construction site is shown with palm trees and a cloudy sky. Workers and equipment are present under a partly cloudy sky.

Workers in orange safety shirts and helmets conduct maintenance on an empty pool surrounded by rocks and structures. Two construction workers wearing safety gear are using tools to work on a curved concrete structure surrounded by plants.
Disney warns guests that they may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. That warning should not be taken lightly. Several crew members are jackhammering at the pool’s walls and floor this week.

Workers in orange vests perform maintenance on an empty swimming pool near a windmill structure, under a cloudy sky.

There are no construction walls around Stormalong Bay, which is par for the course for pool refurbishments. However, this work seems more extensive than usual, and loud for such a well-trafficked area.

Several large potted plants line a covered brick walkway with white railings and columns.Outdoor patio with several tables and chairs under blue umbrellas. Potted plants surround the area, and a cloudy sky is visible in the background.
Only some plants “block” the view of construction from near Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, where waiting guests will get an earful of jackhammering. Of course, construction walls would not muffle the noise much.

The desks stayed the same. New sofa beds and new mattresses. The desk chairs were redone. A couple of disney pictures in the room. Hidden Mickey's in the lamp shade.

This area looked the same to me. Just new paint on the walls. The floors were refinished. New curtains and part of the ceiling is a deep blue. The area where the wine and beer are at night looks amazing!
