We've recently got back from a split-stay at WDW for our honeymoon. Thought I would put up some thoughts on the resorts and our rooms in case it's helpful for anyone.
We spent 4 nights at the Poly in a lake view studio (via rented DVC points) - checked in on 27 Jan, then moved on to BLT on 31 Jan. I had put in a request for any room on the third floor, with the west end of the building preferred, aiming for less disturbance from the TTC. We were given room 3038, on the third floor, but literally the closest room to the TTC on the end of the building lol!
It actually turned out to be a great location for us! The view from the balcony was amazing, with a picture perfect view of the fireworks, which we made sure to watch a few times. We also made the effort to watch the Electrical Water Pageant one night. The walk to the TTC was super quick and easy - literally just exit our room and walk down the stairs at the end of the building. From there we preferred the ferry to MK. We could definitely hear the ferry horn and also a lot of the announcements from the TTC, but it didn't disturb us once we were asleep with the door closed.

Although the view was the highlight, the room itself was very nice too. Spacious, with plenty of room for our stuff and enough USB charging points for all our devices. We would never have bothered to book a place with 2 bathrooms, but we did find it quite handy and definitely enjoyed having a separate shower and tub. The bathroom with the tub was very large though and seemed like a bit of a waste of space! We probably would have enjoyed slightly heavier theming in the room, but there was enough there to still make it feel Disney.
As for the resort itself... we just loved the location (which is the main reason why we booked it). The convenience of walking to the TTC for the ferry to MK or the monorail to EPCOT was worth every cent. We didn't use the pool or really much of the other hotel amenities, but the main pool always looked pretty busy. The lobby was also always very busy, and we were glad to be in a far away longhouse away from all the chaos. We only took the monorail from the lobby twice. It was pretty quiet, but both times it was in the middle of the day.
Captain Cook's became our go-to for meals. We both enjoyed the Thai meatballs, and the surprise pick for me was actually the kids chicken skewers meal. It was the perfect size for me, delicious and being a bit healthier was a bonus. We did check out Wailulu one night, but there was a bit of a wait to get in and nothing on the menu was jumping out at us either, so we just went back to Captain Cook's.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and were pleased we'd decided to splurge for the few nights. The highlights were definitely the view to MK and convenient location with ferry transportation. Low point was the general busy-ness and slightly chaotic vibe in the common areas.
