Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

When bell services came to collect our things they asked us where we wanted our things kept: at the tower or sent to the GCH. We knew we were taking an uber to the airport so we asked them to send it GCH since uber pickups aren’t possible at the tower right now (maybe never?). LSS, seems they have storage at both and can transfer between them for you.
That’s perfect. Thanks for this info!

When booking roll-in shower do you have to be in a wheel. I have a hip replacement that makes it difficult for me to step into a tub shower. Would that qualify?

DD5 used the Moana pool area yesterday (first day it was about 80 degrees). She spent hours in there and skipped her nap (do plan for that if you have Moana fans). Today was supposed to be our full pool day but it’s forecasted rain all day (first pool day temps were in the 60s).

Also, be careful while getting off the bus with little ones. The bus back from Hollywood studios was completely packed. When we were getting off the bus driver closed the door on our 5 year old while my teen was getting her off as I was grabbing the stroller. Everyone started screaming and he opened it again realizing his mistake. If it had completely closed our 5 year old was in the middle of it along with our teen’s arm.

Honestly during the busy holiday season and now with the Island tower, Poly should have its dedicated bus without the Grand Floridan pickup. The bus stop display is also broken and blank so you can’t see when your bus is coming (have to drain batteries to check on the app).

Getting a little worried about standard view at the Tower - that was all that was available at the time of booking but I saw some pics/youtube videos and the balcony view looks pretty bad. I wish I could at least upgrade to preferred view but that’s booked. I requested a higher floor so maybe we’ll get lucky. I just saw water view open on the hotel side and almost switched but I guess I’ll take my chances with wanting to try something new - I just keep going back and forth and hope I’m not setting myself up for disappointment with my excitement about staying at the Polynesian for the first time.

Personally I would not book standard view in the tower until they’re done with the roadwork for the same reason I didn’t book standard view on the hotel side while they were building the tower. This situation is actually worse though because you are virtually guaranteed a construction view instead of just 50/50 risking one.

For a first stay I would just switch to the water view room on the hotel side.

I really considered it last night, but I think it would cost us another $1K (we have two rooms). When we booked, it was when the current discount just came out and no rooms at all were available that morning at the Polynesian- except the Tower which surprised me. I booked immediately - two deluxe studios (even though we don’t need the kitchenette at all) - shocked that they were even included in the discount. There’s a bigger chance of us staying in the hotel side in the future than the tower so I think we’re going to just enjoy the “newness” of it - I requested a higher floor and will hope for the best - we don’t spend a ton of time hanging on our balconies anyway. I do appreciate your input though and will let everyone know what we get.

It’s not great, but not terrible, I guess - having the monorail go by is kinda cool. Just grasping at straws here lol.
I don’t have a problem with that view at all - eventually it will be looking at a golf course. That is, of course, not as great as a TPV, but I don’t spend a lot of time on my balcony.
