Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Curious if when you go matters. I know @Maxie86 and visited her Nov 23. It was quiet mainly because it wasn't pool weather. ( end of month and it was chilly)

I've never seen the quiet pool crowded or noisy. It's mostly adults and older kids. Not saying it never happens but we've never seen it.

jods: I have never ever seen rats just lots of little lizards. I don't think its common. Critters are everywhere though I'm sure it keeps the landscaping staff busy.

snacks yikes on it happening to you twice. :crazy2: That would really creep me out.

Speaking of Garden Cottages, is there a reason to put in any requests? Or they’re all the same so luck of the draw is fine?

@jods, for some reason your post won't copy for me to quote. This is for you.

Oh no! I'm sorry. It hasn't been every trip, just twice, and not recently. If you've walked the path that runs parallel to the main row of cottages you know how the foliage comes right up to the path and actually grows a bit over the edges of the path. On the two trips where this happened, when we would walk the path in the early evening right before dark, big rats would run out from one side right in front of us as we walked and then jump into the foliage on the other side. The entire time we were walking in that area we would take a step and one or two would run across inches from our feet. Then a couple of steps later another one or two would do the same thing. It was wild! One trip, probably eight nights, it happened every evening. Then the next trip, same thing for maybe four evenings and then the next night and for the rest of the trip, no sign of them. We wondered if the landscaping staff was aware of them and had trapped them all overnight.
Omg. That is terrifying. I would have screamed so loud that the entire BW area would have heard me. I'm happy to hear it hasn't happened since. I seriously think I would need to move from the cottages after that lol. I don't do well with rats or bugs.

Glad you never saw them. I like the lizards! There was one tree at the Poly, by the old luau, that was covered in lizards and my kids would make us go there every trip.

I would request rat free 😅

You may want to do your research. As @yaksack said there are 2 types. The 2nd floor is different between the two. Let me see if I can find it.

This should do it. Here with the Ears

There are slight differences in the cottages. They are the same but different. Some have the stairs on the right and some are on the left. Furniture is arranged differently as well. We have been in one of each of the two styles since the referb and neither one was the same as the ones in Trish's post. Before the referb I didn't like the ones with the balcony at all and asked to be moved after looking at it. Now that they have opened up the staircase, hall and one section of the bedroom I like it better than the other style. I'm not that picky about where my room is and rarely make requests. We have only asked to be moved once.

I've been in a bunch of different ones. I think they all have their own advantages. Closer to the main door to the elevators makes for a shorter walk in the elements, but further back is where that "peaceful" vibe everyone speaks of is best. Some have a balcony, but most have an entry porch, an open loft between the floors, and a bigger, more private garden.
Personally, I never make room requests (other than choosing a view or location category) because I like the variety of being in different places. There have been locations that we have ended up loving but never would have experienced if we'd put in requests based on forum or facebook favor.
(This has been true at all of our favorite Disney deluxes, not just at Boardwalk.)

I can't wait to read your trip report!

We have changed our Dec short trip so many times!

SSR 12/8-9 to knock it off our done them all resort list!

12/9-11 has changed and changed. We are now Poly Resort View CL.

My expectant DD thinks baby needs icecream from the lounge. Grandma to be needs Pogmosa’s to celebrate so there’s that 😅

DD and I are knocking SSR resort off our list.

Only need YC CL oddly to complete our resort/ cl lists.

We just really love the staff at BWI. Hard to give that up for another boardwalk area resort.

The cottages are really nice I think you will like the space.
We really enjoyed our MYOCL at SSR in the summer. We were in a 1-bed on the 2nd floor of the Congress Park section. Easy to just take the stairs instead of waiting for (an extremely hot and humid) elevator. Parking was easy, and we could get quite close to the room. The walk to DS was perfect, and we had a great view of the drone show right outside our building. We had zero issues with either the bus system or grabbing a MV/Uber. I hope you enjoy it!

What's the over/under that @trishachanges her reservation again before the trip? You are the undisputed queen of resort changers. I think it was you that once changed your reservation as the plane was landing at MCO. 😂Sounds like such a fun trip, like a mother/daughter baby moon of sorts!

Last year NYE trip lol I switched CBR to Poly CL same as category so we would not have to move next day.

Yep landed at MCO and changed while running for RS.

I am still looking at that SSR🤪

@SkyGuy thanks for the feedback. There’s not too many here that have stayed at SSR.

I think it works ok now that we have the party. We will only sleep there then now can RS with bags to poly cl for breakfast and head to the parks after. Poly lounge is my happy place. 🥰

Lol, i thought that was you. Agree with @SkyGuy . SSR is lovely and the refurb is really nice there. It's very peaceful, I always forget I'm at WDW when we are there. We've stayed everywhere on property but FW. When asked what is your favorite resort, I always say, whichever one I'm currently staying in. 😁

@NicoleLarson my 2 cents on @trishadono's trip is that SSR will keep..it's the last resort to check off on her resort list...and Poly will too..you know she's a Poly gal...but my guess 🤔 is...GV CL will not stick...lol..I bet it will end up being LV CL...or even TPV CL..she..as we all are is very adept at Disney math and of course Disney logic!! 😉
C'mon Trish..don't let us down...😂

Saratoga is very quiet for sleeping. You could sleep in and head to Disney Springs Starbucks and/or other nice breakfast
options depending on the day. You could do the LOOOOONNNG walk to Olivia's at Old Key West. Getting to Disney Springs always feels like a hassle even with Lyft/Uber. It's nice to walk there -- makes it much more enjoyable to go hang out.
