Jason - when you open sapphire chests, you will get a character, if there are any available. If there aren't any characters in the sapphire chest, then you get happiness. But you can only open 3 sapphire in a Tower event. Of the 10ish characters who were in the sapphire chest this event, I had all of the already, but 4. So, I was able to get three of them when I opened the three chests.

Oh gotcha. I never remember the names of the dozen or so chests out there and what is in each of them.

I seemed to have grossly overestimated how much cocoa I would need to get the gold chest. Kept buying it in the elixir shop along the way and now could open a cocoa stand. Oops

The good news…I got the gold chest this morning and welcomed Jafar. Yay! The bad news…I got yet another Frozen bench from the milestone Frozen LC. I also benched out in whatever that challenge is that comes up between events. I splurged the gems to expand my parade and was able to complete the Bad News Bingo. Never again. Just have been having super bad luck with those LC’s. I still don’t have Kristoff or Sven, or the costumes for Anna and Elsa. It shouldn’t be this hard. Oh bother

All of the LC odds have gotten terrible, maybe not as bad as Frozen, but terrible over all. And I continue to get decoration after decoration the past few months.

I think that I will continue to do the Bad New Bingo (which I believe you are calling that Quest thing) - I have a number of gems saved up and was planning on getting a gem attraction anyway. So, why not do it when I can get 2 LC for free?

And it is funny - I only have Marshmellow, Kristoff, Sven and Elsa, and only one attraction. And still get bench after bench.

And that was the way I looked at it when I expanded my parade. Had been wanting to do it for a while anyway, so why not get the free LC’s. Still have one parade slot left, but need to replenish my gems at this point. I’m right under 400 now going into the next chapter of this season

All I have is Happiness in the Event chests, so haven’t been in a huge rush to get coins. I did have all the characters leveled to get explorations done. I’m at around 78,6k for coins, so tomorrow I will see where I’m at and if not close to 90k, probably settle for the Ruby chest (1500 happiness) and Warrior Mulan.
I’m close to level 65 on Kingdom Pass, so that’s moving along.

OK, what am I missing. With "Bingo" are you referring to the explorations, or something else? And what does it have to do with expanding the parade? Is it like the dreamland thing requiring you to spend gems? I must not see something.

Managed the 90k Maleficent coins last night, so got the Gold Chest and the 3k happiness. That got me into level 66 for the season...now I'm just waiting on the patch notes for the mini event...

I also got to 90k last night and got Shenzi, which is one of the few characters I missed along the way. Sitting at 62 for the Season.now just leveling several characters.

Yeah, the dreamland thing. You have to spend gems to get the two LC’s. I used gems to expand my parade and finish the dreamland requirement. Neither has been very profitable so far, but I kinda expected that

Only happiness was available in the chests for me, and I didn't see much use in ending the season 3.5 weeks early instead of just 3 weeks early, so I just took the gems. Looks like we have a few days until a crab tapper event starts, so will enjoy the few days being more casual with the game. I see there is also a Dreamland Quest starting for everyone on Sunday, and happiness is an available reward, so while I usually ignore those I guess we will need to double-check what will be required for the happiness rewards.

Oh, and as for the event. I am not thrilled with how it was structured. I was to sick to play at full-throttle speed (though I still played) for one day and I feel it set me back just enough to force me to spend 300 gems and hundreds of time skip tokens for a chance at either Bailey or Gaston. I am very glad that it ended up being Bailey. And I made the decision to spend the extras because I thought I remembered Bailey being for sale for over $20 at some point (though I am not positive). But, Gameloft is greedy and they are spoiling the game.

I bought the RC Racers to spend at least 100 gems for the dreamland quest. Then saw the chain offer of 2 Incredibles LCs for 100. I really need to start paying attention to that when each new event starts.

Had a fair number of gems so decided to get the 2 and got their house and Violet. Now have 3 of their attractions and 3 characters in that collection. And I’m at 199 characters total. Not bad for 1.5 years

Trying to figure out which LCs to get as the main prize - Mulan as I only have one character, or Brave which is my best odds for something good.

I got an email over the weekend from Gameloft specifying Chip and Dale's Lunar costumes would be in the GL Shop. I checked and didn't see them in there. Lunar New Year isn't until Wednesday, so maybe they'll pop up then.

With the start of this collection event featuring the Mulan characters, the Emperor is available to purchase with gems for any non-Kingdom Passers when he was first released, and he obviously helps with his two-hour collection. I hadn't seen that he would be available so was a bit surprised to see this. I hadn't anticipated completing the Dreamland Quest thing as there isn't much benefit to it for me, but now that I have spent gems I guess I will this time, so I can get an extra decoration through a legendary chest; guess I gotta figure out which one though.
