Which would you choose? I know that they are sister resorts and share the same amenities, but which do you prefer and why?
Thank for your time!

Are you looking for a suite or a "normal" room?
I have only stayed at Movies but Music looks much larger in layout, Movies was more compact I believe. We had a room in the Mighty Ducks area and often went over to Music to catch buses or to the dining area as it was actually closer. When I've looked at where I'd be in a standard room at Music it looks much further from the main building.
I believe Sports is actually the most compact in sized.
Both Music and Movies are fully renovated though, so they have the new rooms that I like.
I'd pick Sports for something new (if it was fully reno'd) or Movies over Music. Unless you are staying Preferred, then I guess Music is ok too.

just a normal room solo

I'm staying in Music for a few days in April and have stayed in Sports (a few times) and Movies before. For me, its six of one and half dozen of another. I usually just go with whichever one has the cheapest rate or is available when I'm booking. I never do preferred. My son, DIL and grand daughter stayed in Movies in Sept. and said it was fine. He has stayed in Sports a number of times. His only complaint was that the non-preferred rooms were way in the back and it did seem like a long walk with a baby and a stroller. I stay in Dolphin a lot and always walk to HS and Epcot and the Dolphin is a large resort with long hallways so walking is not a big deal for me.

Haven’t stayed at music but stayed at movies and sports. I’d pick movies. While they are about the same, we (like others have mentioned) stayed in the ducks section. It was such a quick walk to the music buses I couldn’t believe it. We were the same if not closer to the buses than the preferred rooms at music. We also are hockey fans and just liked the feel of the ducks area.

Definitely-Mighty Ducks is,for all practical purposes a Standard section of All-Star Movies AND a Preferred section of All-Star Music! :)

This is the view looking back at Mighty Ducks after crossing the road between Movies and Music.

This picture is from the same spot after turning and looking toward Music-that is Intermission Food Court in the picture.

Even quicker if you don’t go the route in the second picture. We walked behind our building 2 (closest to the main road) by where the yellow sign is in the first picture. There is a spot with no crosswalk but there was no traffic so it isn’t much of an issue.

Thank you

I’ve done all the Value level resorts and Music is my first choice. It’s a quieter resort and honestly it seems to be most people’s least favorite.

Kids tend to prefer Movies. Pop Warner and Cheer prefer Sports. It’s the largest/worst laid out of the three so longer walks. However I love it. No giant icons with creepy eyes, beautiful landscaping, the quiet,

That being said I needed a one night stay before my main resort next trip and I’m going to stay at Movies just because they had the category I needed. It’s cool even with huge creepy statues and you can’t beat the classic Disney movie vibe. There are rooms at Movies literally less than minute from Musics bus stops and Foodcourt.

Also on the rare times they do bus share. Sports is first to pick up, so it’s a decent choice if you book there.

I agree 100% with music for my solo trips. The only reason I booked movies last month was the AP discount was higher for it. The music food court has a much better, more convenient layout for the seating and drink stations, and I actually enjoy the long walk from the county fair rooms. If I were with others and were using the busses, I could see the distance being an issue. Alos, the main pool at music seemed a lot bigger vs. the one at movies, but that could just be my imagination.

We are at Music now and stayed at Movies a couple weeks ago. I do agree Music is quieter. Seems to be less little kids. Movies Mighty Ducks building is a great spot due to the proximity to Music food court and transportation. Personally I prefer Movies but honestly they are both so similar in services that I just choose whichever has a standard room available.

I have nothing to add but I was just looking for a thread like this. We stayed at Movies in December. We booked it again for our April trip but decided to add an extra night so we were moved to Music because Movies wasn't available on the extra night.

We were booked standard pool view at POP for October, our normal resort however with Europe next month and a couple things around the house we needed to go with a resort that was less so I booked ASMu standard room for $414 less then POP. I am really hesitating with this choice as the All Stars have never really been somewhere I’ve wanted to stay, I have however stayed at ASMo once for a 2 night stay. How long of a walk from the furthest part to the food court/busses? I know the rooms are referred like POPs but wondering if there is much of a difference except the skyliner. I don’t know, did I make the right choice?

FWIW, just spent a split stay with one night in Movies, Mighty Ducks and the refurbished room was great. Very clean and the pull down bed option is nice. We had no problem parking and were close to pool. We did not use transport or dining there but regarding all else I have nothing but positive.
