Afternoon, Gents!
Hope everything's well with everyone. While the week started off horribly, it ended quite nicely. I had my annual review a week ago, and it started off with me walking into the office, sitting down and my supervisor asking me, "So where do you see yourself going?" Basically this was my third year in a row where I was given an "Exceeds Expectation" and she was basically telling me that I'm going to have to move on at some point because I've gone just about as far as I can here. I told her about my goal of becoming a medical coder and she totally told me to go for it. She also told our manager, a director level person, and she even thought it was a good idea. So I now no longer have to worry about studying for my coding and upsetting the cart. I have also been told by my supervisor that a vice-president of the healthcare group knows me by name and likes me.....so I think I'm set. So I'm going to start this journey to becoming a medical coder over. I've done it once before and failed.
On a side note about my knees, I found through multiple x-rays that I have arthritis in my knees, among other joints. Well, I put in for a VA claim hoping to some help there. I worked around the jet flue JP-5 and have discovered through some reading that JP-5 have been known to cause arthritis in laboratory mice. I had to put my claim on hold because we're so short-staffed that I can't afford to take the time off to go to the VA to discuss this with them.
Thanks. I'm tired of my knee hurting.
I've had long commutes before.
I've often wondered that myself.
Basically came down to making some serious mistakes, both at separate times. Unfortunately both of the ladies they let go were tri-lingual, Spanish, Portuguese and English. A good number of out patients are either Spanish or Portuguese speaking, so that really hurt. I've picked up enough that I can understand a word or two, but I definitely need to get a translator on the iPad or phone.
When I first started the screaming got to me, but I was told that you'd get use to it. And for the most part I have gotten use to it. There are times when I cringe listening to them scream, but for the most part I'm use to it. And this is the only office that doesn't have a separate group of people that answer the phones, so the front desk people have to answer phones on top of dealing with patients.
It's not what I thought it was going to be, so I'm all set with being old.
Don't know what it was, but it was weird.
(looking down at the ground) "Sorry, didn't make it to the bathroom."
This is a family friendly site, so I'll refrain from posting what I was really thinking, however, give you a visual: Sailors and drinking.
"I got sucked into playing a game on my phone."

"I'm on vacation, so that means the little dude in my head that is in charge of the math dept. is also on vacation...and I believe he's having a cold drink on the beach. He looks comfortable, so I didn't disturb him."
"You mean you don't have them?"
I've got nothing for this one.
This is funny. "Hello, ladies and gentleman, and welcome to another episode of "Overheard in the parks, by dvczerfs.""
