Colorful Life February 2025 Exercise Challenge

60 minutes this morning. I feel like I'm falling behind. Might need caffeine to catch back up. (Before you ask I'm 80% caffeine free usually but this month has been crazy busy so I'm thinking about indulging.)

I have 190 minutes since my last update which finally brings me to Lilac!
There have been lots of color changes since then from the rest of the team as well! In no particular order ShannyMcB is Ochre, Oneanne is Scarlet, Raya is Lilac as is PollyannaMom, and piglet1979 is on the board at Cerulean! The whole team is now Lilac.

February is also Black History month, celebrating the rich and colorful story of African Americans. The Disney Parks don't do a ton for the occasion, but they call it "Celebrate Soulfully." The Disney Parks Blog states "“Celebrate Soulfully” is such a powerful initiative because it highlights the richness and diversity of culture through music, art, food, and entertainment." That kind of sounds like it should go hand in hand with Festival of the Arts, no? Here's the whole article, which I think tries to make it sound like they're doing more for this season than they actually are by highlighting meet and greets with black characters and performances by black artists that would be taking place anyway, all year round. But there are a few special, limited-time cuisine options, like the "NEW! Peach Cobbler: Cinnamon panna cotta, peach cobbler, brown sugar streusel, and whipped cream with a chocolate piece".

This is one of the best parts of Disney for our family! We have people who don't like chocolate. Yes, I know that's shocking and rare but it's true. If the only option is chocolate they'll skip dessert. So it's nice when Disney brings out a treat that I know everyone can like. :)

Another 60 for me. Looking at the week ahead and trying to decide how much I'm willing to shove aside to get my minutes in.

I am sorry I have written here in a bit. The beginning of the month was a bit rough. I had the flu the end of January through the beginning of February. I was doing good for about a week and then ended up with a sinus infection and the meds made me feel sick. I am finally doing much better and really hope that the illnesses stay away. On a surprising note, my DD, who has low antibodies (she just started on antibody replacement therapy in January), did not get sick while the rest of us were.

I don't remember the specific days that I worked out but I have been adding up the time. I have done Jazzercise 3 times, a 15 minute walk and a 30 minute walk. Weather is finally getting better here so I should be getting in more walking on my lunch as well as 1 more Jazzercise class this month. I am not sure I will hit my goal but I am getting there.

Hi! This month was not great, so I obviously bailed. CarolineBowmanFan37 and I both ended up super sick at WDW. Not counting arrival and departure days ,we had 8 full days there, and we were sick most of that time. We had two park days where we felt pretty good, but we spent three scheduled park days in bed and 2 trying to do the parks while wishing we were back in bed. One of those was AK and we actually did leave it after just two hours to return to our room for the rest of the day. We even missed our After Hours event at MK. : ( We need a do over so badly. So many plans unfulfilled! We still managed a few highlights that saved the trip from total failure, though - a spa visit at the GF before we got sick, tea at The Cake Bake Shop, rode the new Tiana ride for the first time, saw baby tiger Bakso at AK, enjoyed a couple of wonderful meals at Enchanted Rose lounge and Hollywood Brown Derby, and finally experienced 'Ohana for the first time ever at the Lilo and Stitch breakfast.

Back in January, I promised to take on March, so I am here to make good on that promise. I'll have a thread up soon and will post back to let you all know.

I still need to read through the thread, but I hope you all are doing well and had a better month than we did!

I am adding 60 minutes. I went to the mall with DD to look for Prom dresses. We did a lot of walking from one side to the other (the mall is like one long strip) it was a long night. She did find a dress though.

Total -- 375/420

A final 60 lunch time minutes for Feb. As predicted, this week was a hot mess, and I made it to... 81% That's a B. I'll take it, especially with everything that's going on in my life. Side note: it's funny how whenever my job has deep cuts in staff or things go badly I start daydreaming about working at Disney again. :P I was on their job site last night, wondering if I'd ever get lucky enough to work for them.
