Can anyone help? I'm looking for a reasonable XL Twin Comforter Set for my daughter who is going off to college in September.

I was able to keep the budget pretty reasonable 2 years ago when my son went off to college and want to do the same with my daughter. They need so many things to start out and I'm thinking a girl may need more.

Thanks for all your help.

Target sometimes carry them during the year, but definitely will carry them as soon as their college stuff comes out.....and they get cheaper in September and October.

Try JC Penney's; that's where I purchased my son's bedding. The prices were resonable too.

I second JCP. I got a sale catalog from them in the mail last week and they had sheet sets on the back and comforters inside towards the end. You can probably find a free shipping or other discount code as well.
I think the sheet sets were about $20.

Bed Bath and Beyond might be worth a look. Not sure about you but about every other week I get a 20% off coupon from them.

If you like something from there and you need my coupon just let me know.

Good Luck

Not a set but when I went to college I went to the outlet mall and picked up some Ralph Lauren sheet sets for ~$25 each - purple and leopard print that fit my beds perfectly all through college. They washed and wore really well too. Might want to check there off and on during the summer for sales.

As far as a comforter goes how about going with either denim (this is the route I took - goes with everything - I just went with a regular twin size and was ok) or a cheap down one from IKEA with a duvet cover. I got one a few years ago when I moved to my first apartment and it is great. My full/queen sized one was ~$60. I haven't bought a duvet cover there but I think the twin ones are between $20 and $30.

TJ Maxx has had them in the summer, before the kids head off to school.

Out Target actually carries some year round. It's not every set, but try the aisle with the quilts/comforters in brighter colors. That stuff all came in Twin XL.

Bed Bath and Beyond, Linen and Things, Target, etc. will all have a bunch of XL Twin set 'stuff' come summer when college students are getting ready for the school year. You should have no problem finding something that your daughter will like. :thumbsup2

I agree with JCPenney. Make sure you're signed up for their catalogs. It's very common for them to have the XL twin stuff on sale. I've bought it and been very pleased with the quality.

Right now they may be hard to find. The bedding clearance stores may have some left over from last season. Or if your DD doesn't mind making her bed, I do believe that you can use full flat sheets and have to tuck the bottom layer.

Do all dorm beds need the XL size? My DD is heading off this fall and I didnt realize that if thats the case.

Anna's Linens. They have them year round and really well priced. I have seen them on sale for as low as $9.99 for the sheet set.

walmart sells them year round. I tried to buy a coco brown sheet set and all they had was ICK extra long. I was irritated! If you dont mind used (and have one) Savers is great. I spent 10 bucks on a practially new Tommy hillfiger sheet set. I love um, confotable, oversized (great to fit around a fluff) and they wash well.

we picked up DD's stuff at Target last month The XL Twin comforter was $26 ( on sale from 29), the sheet set was $14.99 and the mattress pad was $7.99. Just under $50 with tax for all. DD loves lime green ( wonder where she gets THAT!?!?!:thumbsup2 ) and they had lime green sheets and other bright color striped or polka dots ones.
