Hi, just saw this posted on the other thread, and they sound good. Are they home made, or bought? I would love the recipe. Are they worth eating when you are trying to lose weight?

Step into my parlor! I am a Pampered Chef consultant and these are fabulous when made on our stoneware! Here's a recipe:

One tip for those who do not have the stoneware....only spray one side of the chip! I decided I wanted really tasty chips so I sprayed & sprinkled both sides and put them on a air-bake cookie sheet. What a mess! :rotfl: They stuck to the pan everywhere that I'd gotten wet.

It works fine on the cookie sheet if you only spray the top side though. ;)

And just in case you're interested, this is the recipe I usually use them for. It is really, really yummy! :teeth: I've used them for an appetizer on Mexican night around here.

Apple salsa and cinnamon chips

Cinnamon Chips
4 flour tortillas – 7” size
1 Tbl granulated sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon

Salsa
2 granny smith apples, medium
1 cup strawberries, sliced
1 kiwi, peeled and chopped
1 orange, small
2 Tbl packed brown sugar
2 Tbl apple jelly

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly spray tortillas with water. Combine sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over tortillas. Cut tortillas into 8 wedges & place in single layer on pan. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown & crisp. Set on cooling rack. [NOTE: Do not spray both sides of tortilla or you won’t be able to get them off the pan.]

Peel, core & chop apples. Slice strawberries & chop kiwi. Place all in small bowl. Zest and juice orange. Add zest, orange juice, brown sugar & apple jelly to fruit mixture. Mix gently. Spoon into bowl & serve with chips.

I have substituted freely in this recipe with great results. I’ve replaced the apple jelly with orange marmalade, replaced the kiwi with ½ cup raspberries, replaced both kiwi & strawberries with raspberries, skipped the brown sugar & used canned mandarin oranges with OJ & dried orange zest. Tart apples work best.

I make the cinnamon-sugar chips. They are so yummy! If you want something that tastes really good (but is probably horrible for you), spray the chips very lightly with a butter-flavored cooking spray instead of water. Even with the cinnamon-sugar, the chips don't stick on my cookie sheets. Thus, I'm able to sugar both sides. The chips and fruit salsa is such a refreshing treat during the hot days of summer!

I have a friend who makes the cinnamon-sugar chips into a "dessert." I don't ahev the official recipe, but here's a description...

Put a handful of cinnamon-sugar chips in a bowl. Sprinkle with fresh blueberries, raspberries and cut-up strawberries. Drizzle hot fudge and caramel on top.

This is soooo good, plus it looks great too!!!
