I just received a job offer from Disney World in Florida today and am desperately seeking some guidance in finding a place to live. Preferably without a roommate and under $650-700. I am moving cross country for this job and have no idea where to begin as I have to be moved in here by March 28th 2014. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think there's a board on here for cast members specifically. You might try that to see if you can get some better pointers.

This board is quite busy and you may get help here as well, so don't take this as get out of here, just trying to give you another option as well.

Where will you be working? There are a lot of complexes around Disney.

I requested access to the private cast section but wasn't allowed access because I am not actually working there as of right now. I will be working in attractions as a ride person in Magic Kingdom full time. I am looking at the Buena Vista Place apartments across MK but I cannot get ahold of the people to get more information.

Apartments.com is good, too. I plugged in the 32830 zip code and a 10 mile radius and loads of places came up. That close to WDW, many of the one-bedrooms were pricier than what you were looking for, but you can play with search criteria till you find what you want..

You will not have a problem finding that rent. Just take your time and research! :) Good luck with your apartment search AND your new job!

This are income restricted but I don't know the limits. You may qualify.

Most places are more than you want to spend but in Clermont, off 27 close to 192 (Four Corners) there is Cagan Crossings and Carrington which are closer to your budget and still not too fat out.

Take a few minutes and browse the College Board/CP program. Many CPs decided to stay and look for apartments - mostly with room mates though. Good luck!!!

Availability is pretty tough around here so you might not be able to be too picky, especially with your budget. Cagans a good place to look - 2 of their complexes would be in your budget. Try Abaco Key and Alexandria Parc Vue, these two are closer to MK cast parking than Cagans.

Cagan Crossings specifically says it offers Cast Member Discounts (usually no application fee and/or 1/2 off deposit, but sometimes can be a dollar amount off monthly rent ... won't know until you ask), and a 1 BR there is $575/month, and a studio is $500/month.

I looked at the Cagan Crossings and love it earlier but was turned away by the 12 month lease seeing as I only need about 5-6 months I am going tomorrow to sign up and be put on the wait list at Buena Vista Place but won't be able to move in until the end of the summer.

most leases on apartments run 7/12/18 month leases. I thought Cagan did a 7 month too but I could be wrong. A lot of CM's live there

I sent them an email asking about the lease time so I should hopefully hear back from them, the price is perfect.

A lot of places won't go less than 7 months because the state then classifies them as more of a "hotel" than a "residence", which means they have to pay bed taxes, so you'll either have to find a monthly residence hotel or just get a 7 month lease, unless you can find an individual or a smaller apartment complex to rent from.

Yes, interested to know where you ended up. I am now in the same boat - got a job in Celebration that starts June 16 and need to find a decent 1 bedroom apartment for under $1000.

There are lots of them. This is just from one search on Rent.com. I lived at the Heatherwood Apartments, but that was about 10 years ago. It was nice and quiet, all one story, but didn't have a fitness center or pool (I didn't care about that).

Have you looked at garage apartments in Celebration? You can go to the old town hall building at Market Street to pick up a list of apartments for rent.

:)
