Does anyone know if you can take lysol spray in your checked luggage? I would prefer to take the reg sized can, but I have seen a very small travel size one...I could maybe put in my carry on Thanks

Instead of Lysol, get the small sized pump spray of Clorox Anywhere. It does the same thing, and doesn't have the terrible fumes of Lysol.

Lysol is going to fall under the TSA rules that limit the amount of fluids you can take through security. Check WWW.TSA.GOV for the official rules.

:confused3 I'm wondering why you say lysol isn't allowed in checked luggage? I've been bringing lysol in my checked luggage since 1999 and never had a problem. . .that is like you saying you can't bring canned hairspray either?

Just wondering when the ban on aerosol cans happened . . .anyone know?:confused3

Lysol is not allowed in checked or carryon luggage, not sure that it ever was.
Here is the link again for reference:

There is an exception for "personal care or toiletries in limited quantities" so you can bring hairspray. You have been lucky so far but no way would I risk it. If they do an x-ray of your luggage or a random search at the least your lysol will be removed.

Lysol and Chlorox in any form are both considered unsafe and not allowed in checked luggage.

If your bag had been pulled by TSA for inspection they would've pulled it out. . .

Believe me I hate this cause I wanted to pack the Anywhere spray for our trip and still wonder if I had, if we'd have kept from getting sick during our trip! I took chlorox wipes and used the religiously along with the hand sanitizer and the wet ones antibacterial wipes, but it mattered not in the end. We still got sick!!!

i never thought about bringing lysol or clorox along; if the hotel was creepy looking enough that you think you need to disinfect it don't think i'd want to consider sleeping on the sheets.:scared:

i do bring a small pkg of travel wipes in checked luggage, no problem; moreso for "messes"

jmho, after reading couple articles re the problem of resistent bacteria possibly due to overuse of antibacterial dish & hand soap, etc.; i've quit bothering with the santizer & tell my kids to wash their hands & scrub thru the ABCs.:thumbsup2
