Can GCH guests bring a friend to the pool?

My friend “Daisy” and I are going to Disneyland in a month and staying at a hotel on Harbour with a lackluster pool. Our other good friend “Anna” just let me know she also will be at Disneyland that same time and staying at the Grand Californian (she has much finer taste than us!).

If Anna is there, can Daisy swim in the nice GCH pool during our afternoon hotel/pool break?

Technically no, the pools are only for hotel guests. As I recall, they ask for the guest names and room number when you check in at the pool to get towels.

Got it! Thanks for the info, I’ll let them know.

Depending on how many people "Anna" has staying in her room already with her, she could potentially add you and Daisy to her room reservation (assuming it doesn't exceed the stated room capacity) even if you guys aren't sleeping in the room. Then you would all technically be guests of the resort, and able to access the resort amenities, including the pool.

This is basically what we did, although I did have my niece also stay in the room with us one night, but we had two connecting rooms at the grand (We are a family of 6). My niece came to the parks with us two nights and spent the night. Her family came for just one of the days. I added her to our entire reservation and because each room slept 4, it was fine. She was then able to swim with my kids in the pool and it was a fun cousin weekend. So if there is room, she can just add you and then you can use the pool and hang out with her! Enjoy your trip!

Don’t forget after the 2nd adult there is an extra fee for the room

How did it work adding your niece just for the one night? Can you do it through online check in ahead of time? Anna’s reservation is for her and another adult for 4 nights, but only overlaps our stay by 2 nights.

I also realized adding us to the room would get us Early Entry which would be really great! Our first full park day is their check in day so I don’t know how that would work though…

You can add people to your reservation by calling the hotel ahead of time, or in-person at check in.

Early entry works on check in day
Right, I’m just wondering how Daisy and I get added to the reservation and have the right credentials on our app to get in to EE at 7:30 am if Anna and her party aren’t arriving to their hotel to check in until 1 pm or so….I probably will need to call and ask.

They can add you now, or anytime in advance

Anna and her party would need to share their reservation # with you after you are added to it; you could then add that to your app. There may also be a way for her to add you on her end, if they have you in their friends and family group.
