I am the one who is planning a WDW trip for my husband's high school club (The World Travelers Club)-we are going as chaperones along with another teacher and would like to give the kids some sort of goodie bag when we are settled on the train (15 hours from NC to Kissimmee). We are going to have lanyards made up for the trip in the school colors and I'm thinking that we might put a few pins in each of the bags as well to get them started if they want to trade/collect pins. (My husband and I are big pin collectors and will wear pins on our lanyards too!) The lanyards have a pocket to place tickets/FPs and I am going to print up a basic schedule and best times to ride attractions.

What else would you suggest for these bags? We are looking for practical and creative ideas that keep the kids involved over the train ride and also prepare them a bit for their WDW vacation.

Thanks! IVY :cutie:

How about lip balm (some with SPF in it). Something else that might be handy, but more expensive is a disposable camera. And if you are visiting water parks, the water-proof kind might be better (most kids probably have a digital, but this would allow for some cool pics at the pool, on Splash Mountain or KRR, etc.).

Otherwise, gum, snacks for on the train?

You can get these in bulk, too, so that might help with pricing.

HTH!

Gum is a great idea, as well as lip balm.

I would try the Dollar Store and pick up some glow sticks for the kids. I took glow sticks for the little ones at my niece's wedding, and instead ended up giving them out to all of the bridesmaids. Everybody loves 'em!

While at the Dollar Store, maybe you can pick up some little activity books (sudoku, word find, etc.).

Go to Cosco/Sam's and buy bulk granola bars, or snack crackers/cookies. Check for food allergies, you don't want a trip to the ER.

Lip balm is something that I would not have thought of...thanks! And I LOVE the idea of the glow sticks-perfect!!

Keep the ideas comin'!

I would add hand sanitizer, little kleenex pks, Jolly rancher type candy(doesn't melt),clorox wipes mini pks(we like to use these on the tables before we sit down to eat & in the rooms), mints, dollar store rain ponchos, travel size shampoo & conditioner(the ones WDW gives you are so small and not all of the product comes out) and mini Pepto & tylenol(since it's with school I don't know if you can give those out):)

You could do a word search or crossword from a free puzzle site, and then offer a pin to the first person with the correct answers.

Randomly announce a "Disney Pop Quiz" - for instance "First person to come to Mr. X with a list of 15 Disney movies receives one free trading pin"

Then an hour later do it again with another question. The prizes don't have to always be pins, could be glow sticks, gum, Disney GC with $5 or whatever.

I think my students would have enjoyed that - and helped get them in the Disney spririt! Some Disney trivia can almost be educational!

FOOD..teens eat a lot!! Snacks on the train will be a lifesaver.

Silly kid toys that only teens would enjoy together would be fun too.. Think silly putty.

Have you thought about getting t-shirts made for the trip? We have a place where I live that will print t-shirts for events/sports teams for around $5 a shirt if the screen print is 1 color. Or if your school has a graphic arts departmnet, that is also an option.

I think that glow sticks are a great idea. Also, maybe a small photo album or notebook for character autographs - you can get these at the Dollar Tree.

Thanks to all the ideas! Of course, we will include some food items in the goodie bags-they're teenagers!! :)

To MoeFam...AWESOME idea about the trivia quizzes along the way!! We will DEFINITELY be doing that...and a great way to hand out some "little" extras like pins and/or Disney gift cards!

What do you all think about movies?? They will all be bringing their laptops (school-issued) as well as two school-issued digital cameras and one camcorder. I was thinking that I might bring the latest free Disney DVD as a few of the kids have never been to WDW...??

Decks of cards! Also maybe a deck of Uno, skip-bo, and an Apples to Apples game for them to play as a group. Mad Libs are fun, too.

How about pens & pencils. (The Disney ones at the dollar store.) Maybe a daily journal. Sunblock if your school permits it. New pennies for the penny press machines. My teens like the Disney tatoos from the dollar store. You'd be surprised what the teens like.

all of those ideas sound great!! I ran them by my 15 yr old and he liked them!! I would add bottles of water as well!

What about something to do with Hidden Mickey's? My dd had a BLAST with her hidden mickey book and searching for them while we were there. It would probably be pricey to get them all the book.. but I know there is a ton of info about them on the internet.
You could make a print out of what they are, where to look for some and make a game of it while in the parks.
Sorry.. not a fully formed idea but it could be fun.:)

btw...did the other teacher ever get involved?

teenagers...they think they know everyting! make them prove it!

glow sticks, bubbles, tattoos, card games, dice games (farkle) but you can get packs of dice cheap at dollar tree and print instructions...
