Best time to make a dining reservation during after hours event?

Going to Epcot AH event and wondering what time would be the best to make a dining reservation? Thanks for any help!

I have learned the hard way and would not book sit down dining during a special event. Part of the appeal and/or price tag is that attractions can be enjoyed with much lower wait times. In order to take advantage of that I wouldn’t spend an hour plus at a TS restaurant. I know that isn’t what you asked but it may be helpful.

Unless you are super set on a specific restaurant and are only going to Epcot during the AH event. Bear in mind that not all restaurants may be open during that event either. If the AH event allows you in at 7 and the park is still open until 9 you may want to consider dining during that window to give time for the regularly ticketed guests to exit the park and enjoy the rides after that.

I should have noted this first. We are only going for the after hour event at Epcot, nothing during the day. So, I was thinking about doing a dinner around 7:15 and then by the time we are done the after hour event will almost be starting. Thoughts on this?

I would eat before the event and use all the time you are given for the actual event. The events aren't cheap and your time is precious, don't spend time you paid extra for sitting and eating.

Totally AGREE !!!!!!!
Do NOT waste your time eating at a sit down when you are paying for an event.
Eat a big , late lunch.

Agree! Plus you get ice cream & popcorn during After Hours. I always want some room for those so I don’t eat too close to it.

I'll pile on. Since you can get into Epcot at 7 with an AH ticket, maybe eat a bit earlier (6-ish?) at one of the Boardwalk/BC/YC/Swan/Dolphin restaurants?

Agree with georgina- get a dinner reservation for about 5 pm at an EP resort restaurant then enter thru the IG entrance for the after hours party at 7!
