I am needing to start planning our trip in February 2026 to WDW. My only home resort at WDW is CCV. I am a novice to DVC and WDW, and not super familiar with WDW overall.

We are a family of 6. 4 adults a 10 year old and 1 year old. We plan to visit all 4 parks for this visit, considering this...

What is the best bang for your point for a 2 bedroom at WDW?

What is the best location when visiting all parks if points are no issue?

Im thinking my home resort of CCV is not the best. But I could be completely wrong, am I?

I recently watched a room tour of a 2BD CCV and it looked awesome! But do you mind the sofa vs. the Muphy bed?

Best bang for your buck would probably be OKW, SSR or AKV… but my vote would be BWV if you can swing it. Two bedrooms are a little harder to get but doable and the point chart is favorable.

Plus IMO being able to walk/boat to two parks vs being reliant on buses (which you would be for the other 3) is a game changer when you’re in the stroller phase.

How long are you going for? We went 9 nights last year and really liked splitting our trip into 5 nights at an epcot/hs adjacent resort and 4 nights at an MK resort. We really liked that mix and it was fun getting to experience two different resorts!

The largest 2BR villas are at Old Key West. Lots of space to spread out. Those villas are also the lowest point cost of all 2BR at WDW. Old Key West is the original DVC resort. You shouldn't have any issues getting a 2BR at OKW at the 7 month mark, particularly for Feb.

The downsides are: the rooms are a bit dated at the moment (a refurb will be coming up in a couple of years), and the only transportation to the parks is via bus. It is a large resort with an internal bus system which can add a fair amount of time to the trip to/from the parks.

All great choices. I will point out,,2bdrm AKL Kidani has 3 bathrooms and pointsts are not too bad. Yes everyone complains about bussing,,but its not far to 3 parks,,only MK

I like that the point charts are good and the location is good. The less busses the better for sure

It will likely be 5 nights. If I can stretch 6 points wise that would be better.

Based on you owning at VGC and this being your first time, I'd opt for something with a little better location than OKW personally. I'd go with BLT for location or perhaps an AKV Jambo 2br if you want something more unique that you pretty much can't get anywhere else. Lake view or I guess preferred view at BLT has pretty decent 7 months availability. Obviously if a 2BR at Beach Club or BWV magically appears you'd take that but that's pretty tough to find at 7 months. If you need someone to sleep in the living room I'd probably stay from AKV because of the sofa beds. For the same reason though I'd also stay away from OKW because they don't have Murphy beds either.

Edit: Your home resort of Copper Creek is not a bad idea either and you could take the boats to Magic Kingdom if that's something you'd enjoy.

Yes we are so used to being close to the parks. I remember taking the bus to AK back in 2020/2021 and it felt SO far away. I think busses are probably better now. Back then the wait was 30 min or more due to reduced capacity.

We have owned at BWV since 1996. We really love it. Gotta say it is our favorite WDW resort. However there are no dedicated 2br there. All 2 br are lock offs. The issue is that the 2 br are in competition with studios. We never had an issue with getting a 1br or 2br at 11 months. 7 months may be a little harder.

We stayed in a 2br dedicated at BLT. It was great. Point chart not all that bad. It had 3 bathrooms and a great kitchen. BLT is recently renovated, or undergoing renovation so it will be nice and fresh. We loved the location. Walk to MK and monorail to Epcot.

At times we have stayed at OKW when we could not land a 2br at BWV. Big rooms, great resort, but gotta bus everywhere. Would stay there again.

SSR is close to Disney Springs. May be your jam, but it is not ours. Never stayed there.
AKV is easier to get into at 7months. We are taking our first trip there in November. Grandkids are very excited.

Long and short of it is I don't think there is a bad DVC resort. You will have a great time anywhere.

The actual ride of AKV may be slightly longer than the others but at least it doesn't have an internal bus loop like OKW or SSR.

No matter where you most want to stay, book your home resort CCV at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months.

And in February, beware of competition at 7 months around Presidents’ Day 2/16 and the Princess Half Marathon weekend near that time. Very popular time to book - not as bad as Christmas or Fall Frenzy, but more popular and harder to book than late January.

A few thoughts.

For "fun" have you looked at the point charts at OKW 3BR? Although not needed for a trip your size you may be shocked that a 3BR at OKW will be cheaper than a 2BR at some of the more expensive point chart resorts (VGC included). A 3BR at SSR standard view may be similar to a 2BR at a higher point chart resort too.

I'd give a vote for AKV-Kidani side for the extra bathroom. It's also an awesome resort in total but you do have to deal with the busses.

We had a great time at BWV in a 2BR garden view room and it's a solid location. Only two bathrooms and it is a lock off but should still have no issues sleeping your family.

We love CCV but usually we'll only have 4 of us in our 2BR if we go there. It's also the closest "twin" to VGC at WDW so you should see it for that. AKV is also same designer too.... The CCV rooms are beautiful but a bit on the small side. You may want to consider visiting the 2BR at BRV for a bit more sleeping spaces if you get the lock off.

We personally are giving a 2BR at OKW a go for the first time in a few weeks but again only 4 of us and we do rent a car.
