Who has a California King? Is it really that hard to find bedding do your bed?? Specifically duvet covers and the inserts.

We currently have a queen and my husband want to upgrade to a king. I found a bed frame I LOVE but it only comes in Cal king and I'm having trouble finding Cal king bedding. Most things I'm seeing are king size and I'm thinking a king size comforter/quilt could work but sheets would definitely not fit if it was a whole set. We used to have a king years ago and I always found Cali king stuff but I'm just not seeing it as much now.

ETA....maybe I'm just too picky with patterns and haven't looked at some options because of the style...:confused3:laughing:

We don't have a California King, but DH wants one. It's a good bed for tall folks because both a queen and king are 80" long but a California King is 84" long. It's wider than a Queen, but not as wide as a King.

To your question - I can't suggest any good places to find bedding, but I too have noticdd it's not easy to find. We tend to buy sheets, blankets, and such when we find a good deal. But if we get a California King we'll be paying regular price because we just won't be able to walk into a Marshall's like we do now and find good choices.

I haven’t had trouble finding just sheets, but I havent looked for a set with a comforter.

Are you able to easily find king and California King mattesses in your area? If you’re fining king bedding you like any chance the king mattress would work with bed frame?

We have a California King and love it. I don't have a specific Cal. King comforter or duvet, but I order our sheets from Groupon for about 30.00 for a top and bottom sheet and 2 pillow cases. They fit great and aren't expensive and are high quality, lasting for a long time. Also very comfortable and come in pretty colors and patterns!

Looks like all the major retailers have the sheets. Never slept in one, I just know I feel like I need by cell phone to talk to my wife on the other side of a regular King sized bed when were are a hotel. We have a queen sized at home, and even when we had pets, we get lost in the queen size, and I'm 6'2" and 250 pounds, and my wife is 5'7" so we aren't midgets

I've actually found that some King sheet sets fit our Cal King. I happened to try a set on a whim one time (because I really liked them), and, other than being a bit more snug in one direction, they worked. Since then I've stuck to just buying King sheets as long as they have a bit of stretch in them.

It's more common around here, but I believe California king sells more than traditional king in my area. Not sure about other parts of the country.

We have a California king and I have found it difficult to find discounted priced sheets or duvet covers. I ended up with sheets from lands end.

Have you tried amazon? I bought some sheets over the holidays and they were great.

My dad and stepmom had a California King-they didn't change their style of sheets or duvet covers often so I'm sure that helped.

My husband and I have a King. I think in terms of availability immediately King is going to be more predominate in a generalized comment (certain areas may be different). I seem to see pretty much all the time twin/full, queen, king but rarely California King in stores. It may be a size available to be purchased online though.

DH is 6'4" so that extra length is helpful. I usually get sheets at Costco.

Thank all for the replies. Sheets don't seem to be as hard to find as the blankets/comforter/duvet but I guess that would work it would just be a little short. LOL

I like our queen and don't feel the need for a king size but hubby thinks he'd like one. We both are a little, as my hubby says, short and chubby... so we don't really need the extra length. My hubby is also a cuddler:hug:(aka...smother-er...:rotfl:) so I dont know why he wants a king.

H is 6'6", so we have a Cal King. We get our duvets from Pottery Barn (they have some really great sales), and their largest size is King/Cal King and fits both sizes. We either also get our sheets from Pottery Barn or from Target or BB&B. They've been easy to find in the states we've lived in since we've had the bed (CA, KY, WA, MI), but I too have heard that they can be trickier to find in some regions. I'm lazy and don't like to shop at B&M stores though, so I just order online.

HTH! :)

Parents have a California King waterbed. It's hard to find sheets not sold as sets. (Flats fit waterbeds, Fitted sheets don't fit as well.)

They found good Cal King sheets at Target. (Actually, I have a lot of sheets from Target at a reasonable cost that held up well.)

They just use regular King blankets most often.
