Does anyone know the way to override the air conditioning program at the Beach Club Villas so that it doesn’t shut off at night? Heat sensitivity issues.

Don’t know about overriding, but I do recall something about tying a helium balloon close to the thermostat so it detects movement.....only works for the movement sensitive ones...not sure what kind the Beach Club has.

The balloon and a fan trick (blow the fan at the balloon) works, or it’s never failed me to just Google the model of thermostat and figure out how to put it into god mode. Not every room at BCV has the same thermostat since they replace them as they break and models change all the time.

I had problems in a 1BR at AKV in the past and called Maintenance from the room phone. They had it resolved fairly quickly - it was actually a problem with the vent in the living room (previous occupant had closed all the louvers so it was cool in the bedroom but never the living room).

While the maintenance guy was there I asked him how to set the thermostat so it kept the room cool all the time and he set it for me. I think I had to reset it every 3 days but I'm not 100% sure if that was the same trip.

That’s a great idea to Google the model once we get there! Thank you

I was in a 2BR LO @ BCV last month. Here's what I did:
Hold down "display" button
While holding "display", press "fan only"
Release "fan only", continue to hold down "display" and press "up arrow"
Release all buttons and a code is displayed and then you can set the temp
I tied a helium balloon to a kitchen chair and that was the trick for the motion sensor to keep the temp constant in the 1BR portion for all 5 days I was there
I had to recalibrate the thermostat in the studio portion every day since I had brought only one balloon

I saved this long ago from a post here, not sure if it still works or not.

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

The sensor by-pass for our kind of thermostat was simple--I just pressed the "off" button and both the temperature "up/down" buttons all at the same time. "BP' appears in the thermostat, and then it operates as most other themostats in most other hotels in the US

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS
5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

OKW

Thermostats at OKW are one of the easiest to override. Press and hold the F/C button on the left side of the thermostat. After 2-3 seconds bp will show on the display. The bypass will last for 24 hours so you need to do it every day. Pressing the F/C button will also change the display from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Just press it again to switch it back to whichever you prefer.

There had been at one time discussion that motion alone might not work (some sensors might be thermal based, so as to sense not just motion but an actual person moving about in the space.) The alteration to the balloon plan: Tie a hamster to it. (a baked potato was suggested but quickly vetoed as it would weigh down the balloon's movement to much, whereas the hamster would be light enough...and wiggly enough... to be additive.)

So add "Hamster" to your shopping list as well, lol.

*Note: No hamsters were harmed in the humor of this suggestion... i.e., yes, this is intended as a joke, made by people who hate to sweat at night but not so much they would actually sacrifice small animals as a solution.

My 10 year old literally just wrote and delivered a speech last night on why she should get a hamster. I will be sure to NOT let her know there is a practical reason, too. 😂

Funny - I did THE EXACT SAME THING at her age! I also posted an envelope on my bedroom door for "donations" to my Hamster Cause. Unfortunately, my mother never told me she was humoring my passions but had ZERO intention of EVER bringing rodential life under our roof, so I received a parakeet for my 11th birthday instead. And my older sister got mad because she and her bf had contributed specifically to the "Hamster Cause" and wanted a refund (but I had spent it already!)

Try this:

1. AT THE SAME TIME (AND IN THIS EXACT ORDER): hold down the MODE button first, then also the FAN button, and then also the "UP" button.

2. RELEASE ALL THREE HELD BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME.

3. You will see an "LEn" message display on the thermostat reading.

4. Then press the "DOWN" arrow button and lower the temperature down.

Hacking hotel thermostats is a great hobby.

This is the way.
(to override the newer INNCOM E7 units, which are showing up in more rooms)

I keep this page open in my Safari tabs on my iPhone, has a wide variety of thermostats and videos for how to override them: https://yourmileagemayvary.com/2022/07/02/how-to-override-hotel-thermostat-settings/

I like the throw the towel over it idea! Nice and simple. At
Boulder ridge this past May, I felt like those rooms got hot during the night. If any of us got up during the night, we’d walk around to get the ac going.

Funny thing we never had an issue with AC in any DVC room for 20 years now until this year. Every room in the past we would the temperature around 73 or 74 if I put it lower we would wake up in the middle of the night cold. This year we stayed in a GF resort room we had one of the standard Firework view rooms (no requests BTW) the room was on the warm side set to 68. The thermostat had the override when we checked in set to 65 I turned it on and off a few days in either way did not make a difference. I think because that room had vaulted ceilings and the roof was just above it there was no way that room was going to feel cool but it was not uncomfortable for us. I would request a lower floor if I stay there again.

Oh lawd. I could see my husband at 73 degrees. It wouldn't be pretty.😁
