Does anyone know where to find an age appropriate bathing suit for a 13 year old teen girl? She is too old for the bathing suits at Justice but whenever we look at juniors bathing suits online it seems as if there is very little material. Where do you find cute bikinis that cover appropriately without looking like the Duggars?

Thanks

We haven’t shopped yet this year, but last year I thought JCPenney’s had a ton of suits to choose from—from appropriate to not so appropriate IMO, but we still found several suits we could agree upon. My girls are 17, 14 and 11. My 17 year old is more modest—it is the 14 year old that requires negotiation. So far no issues with the 11 year old.

Following- I'm having trouble finding suits for my daughter this year. She's only 11, but she doesn't like bikinis and her torso is so long that most one pieces look weird. She prefers tankinis but I'm having trouble finding any this year with longer tops.

I'd love to know to. My 12 year old wants bikinis - but the only thing I can find at Target is way tooo itsy bitsy teeny weeny. I'll have to try Pennys.

Old Navy has a decent selection and many that are mix and match. Long tankini tops were one thing I liked that they offered. Same with Kohls.

Try target online, there are modest tops and bottoms. My teens prefer a bandeau top, or a halter top, because they are skinny and not very busty. Their bottoms are usually smaller than I’d like, but no cheeky bott9ms allowed.

Thanks I'll look - problem is my girl is very well developed and larger than I am, shall we say, so she's having a hard time trying to get used to it and wear stuff like her friends who haven't really developed are wearing. And figuring out the right size is hard - but I bet we can return to store if buy from target online at least.

My daughter at 16 is a large cup and we've purchased her tops from Pink and Target. Anyone who goes swimsuit shopping with a teen girl should automatically be eligible for sainthood. :littleangel:

Athleta has great suits. They probably have ones from last season on sale online. You can return to a store.

Athleta has awesome suits that are super cute but also made for doing water sports (and so are more modest and cover better) and Speedo suits (we get them at Costco for cheap!!) My 13 yo likes both, but she’s not picky either!

What size Speedos do you get at Costco that fit your daughter if you don't mind me asking? Is she in the woman sizes? Mine doesn't fit the girl sizes there at all and looked at me like I lost my mind when I suggested she try a woman's small.

Thanks! I will try to take her here when she is in the mood to shop again.

I totally agree about Target. We tried there today. The suits are like 2 little triangles on top hooked together with dental floss on the back of the top. The bottom starts out OK until you turn it to the side and see the tiny strings there where fabric should be!! :scared:

Will look at Pink online. I agree about the sainthood comment although I think that should include any clothes shopping with a teen!!
