Has anyone ever used the Band Aid blister bandaids? I tend to get blisters easily and was wondering if i should get this for when we're at the parks and if they'll help ease the pain of the blisters??

i find they tend to tear easier then regular band aids....maybe its the extra padding
but they do help and anything is better then no band aid at all...

I haven't used these, but I get terrible blisters as well. I use moleskin when at WDW and put some on at the first feeling of a "hot spot" where a blister is going to form. I would highly recommend that you bring some with you.

okay thanks for the info. i do have one more question though - what is mole skin and where do i buy it?

:thumbsup2 my dd12 uses these and says there great!! you can get moleskin at Wal-Mart with the foot care products.

I bring those Bandaid blister bandaids to every Disney trip. No matter how much I wear my sneakers before my trip...I still end up with Blisters on the back of my ankle!

IME, the Dr. Scholl brand of blister bandages stick longer and better than the Bandaid brand. You get a couple more in the pack too.

thanks everyone for the replies. i'm definitely going to get these items so i don't suffer from the blisters - as little as they are, they sure are painful!

As mentioned, you can get moleskin at any of the Mart/Target type stores with the foot stuff. Basically it's sticky on one side and fuzzy on the other (sorry, wish I could describe it better). When you get a blister, you cut it to go around the blister, but so the blister itself pokes through a hole in the moleskin (you cut the hole too). That prevent the blister from being pressed as you walk. It makes a nice little blister cloud. :rotfl2: You can also cut it with no hole to cover "hot spots" where your shoes are rubbing and a blister is likely to form. This prevents the friction of the socl/shoe from rubbing against your skin, and therefore you don't end up with an acutal blister in that spot. By the end of my week at Disney I have my feet covered with the stuff in various spots. There's no way I could walk that much without it.

The Dr. Scholls brand of blister bandages do hold on well.....so well you CAN'T take them off if you need to without a whole lot of effort.

On a trip about 5 years ago my dh put one on a blister....then apparently the blister became infected. He was becoming feverish and had a lot of pain. We HAD to get that thing off, but it took a very long soaking (an hour? maybe longer...) to get it loose. We did manage to get it off and some antibiotic ointment took care of the infection (thank goodness, I was afraid we'd be heading to the clinic that evening...). I would either avoid them, or at least make sure to put some Neosporin on the blister with the bandage.

I used these earlier this month because my Crocs made blisters on the TOPS of my feet. They would probably work well on the backs of your heels, too. But I made the mistake of getting spray sunscreen on the side of my foot, which made the adhesive not stick very well. Where my foot was dry the blister pad stuck GREAT. At nearly $4 for a package of 4 pads they are rather pricey, but they served the purpose MUCH better than Band Aids. We had moleskin but I was too lazy to sit there and cut it to the proper size and shape. ;)

I know when I go to WDW that I know that I will have "hot spots" :worried: one under my big toe and one on the back of my foot. I always apply moleskin before I leave the hotel each morning and it prevents them from happening. It is easier to use before the hot spots develop than it is afterward.

Moleskin quite literally SAVED my feet this last trip. Got heel blisters from the crocs (grrr) and the moleskin made the irritation and pain go far away!

I always try to prevent blisters before they occur. I rub my feet all over every morning with Arrid cream antipersperant, let them completely dry, then apply either Avon antiblister balm or body glide beneath all my toes and over the ball of my foot. Before we ever leave home I apply a large piece of moleskin inside the shoes right across where the toes hit. If I have a pair that I know might irritate the top of my foot I'll apply moleskin there too. I prefer to apply moleskin directly to the shoe, rather than my foot. I rub my feet down with peppermint lotion every night and keep a close eye on them. I do carry precut peices of moleskin into the parks with me, but thus far have never had to use them. I also never wear tennis shoes into the parks. I love my Crocs, Reefs, and especially my Teva Mush flip flops. The one trip I did wear tennis shoes I was miserable (feet hot and sore).

FYI: Jafra make a great peppermint kit for your feet. It has peppermint foot lotion, peppermint foot soak, and a cooling peppermint foot/leg mask that's supposed to increase circulation and is absolutely wonderful. I wouldn't dream of going to WDW without my little blow up foot bath and my Jafra peppermint stuff.

Anyway, what I'm saying is take care of your feet before problems ever start.

I have not used the bandaid blisters but this is what I did the last trip to WDW and it was the best trip for my feet. I put moleskin everywhere I normally get blisters or on any new blisters that start every am before i put on my shoes. It took a couple extra minutes but it was WORTH it!
