It’s been a while since I have been on here unfortunately but I am finally going back to Disney!! Only for 3 days but I’ll take it!!!! It’s me and my 27 year old daughter doing a girls trip before she starts her family. Biggest thing we want to do is MNSSHP!!! We are going from 10-19 to 10-22 so we have almost 3 full days. I did get the park hopper for the 3 days and will buy tickets for the party once available. So we booked POP since we won’t even be in the room except to sleep and shower but wanted to save money. But now I’m second guessing myself. I thought busses were an option for all parks and it seems you have to take the skyliner to Caribbean and transfer to get to HS or Epcot. I have been watching videos of the skyliner and am not a fan!! Did we make a mistake picking this resort?? Is it better to spend more money with more convenience? My plan is to be in MK for rope drop and do the party in the same day. Be there open to close!!! Then hit the other 3 parks on the other days. We are only looking to do certain things at the other parks so don’t need to be there all day. For instance, we don’t do star wars so won’t go to that section of HS. If I can get the nerve to do the skyliner that’s fine for HS and Epcot but for magic kingdom I see we could possible get a Minnie van through Lyft?? Anyone ever done that?? Any suggestions for where to go when and advice is well appreciated since it’s been a while since we have been to Disney!!!

POP used to be pretty close in price to the All-Star resorts. Since skyliner opened that price difference has gotten greater. That’s because enough people find value in having the skyliner as an amenity to justify the cost premium. Same thing for the moderates, CBR charges more than the other moderates. Demand for skyliner resorts looks strong. I follow pricing, discounts and availability and even with higher prices and less inventory given under discounts, they often sell out before the others.

All that to say… If you’re not into the skyliner, check the All-Star prices. If you can save $20+ a night, that could buy some rideshares and/or LLs without increasing the overall budget.

When it comes to rideshares and going back to your resort, keep in mind walking over to Beach Club from EP int’l Gateway or BLT from MK works great under certain circumstances. Like if you’re pooped at the end of EP day and in World Showcase? Going to BC for uber/lyft can save alot of time and energy.

I don’t know your plans around LLs but I’d think splurging for FoP at AK or getting LLMP at HS will make a bigger difference to your day than which pillow you sleep at night, All Stars or POP.

So I’d start this question by looking at the price difference of value resorts first.

Thanks!!! Good advice!!!!

I absolutely LOVE the Skyliner and changing at CB is no big deal. It took us 10 minutes to get to HS on Skyliner and about 20 to get to Epcot. The Epcot "run" takes a little longer because there is a slow down at the Rivera plus the distance is a little further. There IS a disadvantage at Epcot if you're in FW since you do have to walk all the way back to the Skyliner station (past UK at World Traders) and that's a long walk at the end of a long day. If you want total bus service check out an All Star Resort. We love All Star Music but we do pay for preferred rooms so we're closer to the lobby/bus loading area. I will say the bus service seems to have gotten a lot better than it was a few years ago; seems like they're running more buses. Disadvantage of the All Star Resorts...your bus pickups at the parks are usually a "good walk" since they ARE "value resorts". (POP's bus stop at the MK is close to the front.) I wouldn't mess with Minnie Van or Uber; buses start running earlier for parks with EMH's so just be at the bus stop early. With all that said; we LOVE POP Century. The Skyliner is such a nice addition and it's such a peaceful "ride"...and it only carries 8 people so there's not a lot of "people noise". :tink:

@chrissyc72 Hi Chrissy! On the opposite camp here, not a big fan of the Skyliner. Maybe when it first came out and still during slow periods its a game changer, but I feel the lines that form are just not worth it. In my case when I was there in February they extended all the way from the bridge to the 50s and we waited 1.5hrs in the morning just to get on for HS 😥.

If you're a rope drop sort of gal and you know you wont be spending a lot of time in your hotel I would say the All Stars are the way to go. Remember the All Stars were recently refurbished so for the most part I have found the rooms at the All Stars much nicer than those at the ones I found at POP. (All Star Music 🎶 being my favorite over Movies and Sports). Like Genie said, I think moving over will not only safe you some cash best spent on Dining Packages and LLs/Sigle Passes (yay!) but it will also make transportation so much easier in the mornings and after fireworks...so excited for you!
