Has anyone stayed at the timeshare Wyndham @ bonnett creek and avoided the parking fees at the parks - perhaps walking over to another resort to catch the bus. Don't judge. Or, is there a cheaper way to get into the resort vs 20 a day for parking?

Do some number crunching and decide if it makes sense for someone in your party to get an annual pass (are you returning within 12 months, are the dining and merchandise discounts significant enough, $20 x how many days you'll be there, etc). AP holders get free parking. I've also heard of people using Uber to get to the Boardwalk area or CBR. There's really no good way to walk somewhere for resort busses (or even to grab a bite or shop).

You can't walk from Bonnet Creek to any resort with a free shuttle to the parks.

The resort has a shuttle you pay for, but for more than a couple of people parking is cheaper.

Some people have reported taking Uber to a nearby resort and then taking the bus, which might be slightly less than parking and likely less than the shuttle.

In the end, trying to save the $20 will likely cost you in time and aggravation. Eating one less meal at the parks could pay for your parking.

I ask because I really really like walking and I'm also doing a last minute trip (If I can afford to) ... money will be very tight as this is just a 3 night unplanned thing. I thought if it were a long walk I would enjoy it. Thanks everyone. Wish I could afford to go with an AP - that's something I need to think about for the future. Hmmmmm....

I hear you on walking. I prefer walking and I'm also a runner, so I look pretty closely at walking and running options wherever I go. There is a sidewalk along Chelonia Parkway, but it ends before it hits Buena Vista Drive. Disney really discourages pedestrian use along their roadways, and I've heard of runners being picked up by security and returned to their resorts. Uber or Lyft might be your best bet, or I like Upatnoon's suggestion to offset the parking cost by forgoing another expense like a park meal or something.

We use Uber alot when we stay at Bonnet Creek. It usually costs about $6 per trip to get from Bonnet Creek to Boardwalk. From there you can take a boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios or a bus to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. It is way more convenient than driving over and parking and ends up being cheaper than parking if you are only making one round trip per day.

BC sidewalk does not leave their property.
Walking on Disney property without a sidewalk is prohibited.
If caught walking security will pick you up.
I suggest UBER as well.

Maybe Disney will come arrest me now, but each trip we have usually driven to the boardwalk to spend 1-2 hours sightseeing, shopping and getting lunch. Then we've popped into World Showcase at Epcot for a few hours and came back to our car parked at the Boardwalk. It's never been an issue. That is something maybe we will do ONCE on our trip--not a daily way to get free parking. We budget parking costs into the vacation budget.

Hey there! We are sneaking in a last minute trip too! Heading down again 12/1 (gotta siphon every ounce outta those Ap's before they expire 12/5 LOL!)...but seriously, having an AP would get you free parking. We're staying off-site this trip (cause the DVC points are all used up for the year) so free parking was a biggie. If you think you may be back within the next 13 months, buy an Ap and use the discounts on meals and stuff as well as free parking to offset the extra cost of buying an Ap!

when do you try this - right now BW, BC and YC are turning back anyone not staying there or has dinner reservation - you must have a reservation number to get in.

Now Bonnet creek is right next door to CBR - but there is a water way - alligators between BC and CBR - not to mention a fence

have you consider the Fort Wilderness campground - you can walk miles over there - and if you can camp it should be reasonable - especially if you are going in Nov, dec, jan or feb

There is a LYNX bus that runs from the Hilton complex to Disney Springs West Side. May be an option for you to explore - though it would add a lot of time to the process.
