Are pools heated on the Wonder?

Am leaving soon for trip on the Wonder and it looks like the temps the whole week will be a bit on the cooler side most of the time, like in the high 60s to low 70s range. Normally, for my family when the air temp is that low, the water is usually too cold to swim in. Is the pool water on deck heated?

Yes.

This is the DCL ship that cruises to Alaska. They're quite accustomed to turning up the heat in the pools.

They were not heated on the Nov. 6 sailing out of Galveston, and they were pretty chilly such that most people thought they were too cool even during the day when the sun was out. I was disappointed because they'd been nice and warm on previous Wonder cruises.

Sorry to hear that Mareed, but that must have been a temporary problem, the pools ended up being fine on our Dec 18 sailing, and the air temp was quite cool.

That's good to hear! I did register a complaint about it with Guest Services, so maybe it helped. Who knows?!

I sailed on this sailing too- the December 18th cruise and the adult pool was warmer than the hot tubs. We did let DCL know that the hot tubs weren't very hot...

They were heated when I was on in November 2014 and agin this past summer in Alaska. Very nice!

There were lots of people in the pools on our WBPC but I thought the water was too cold most days. The hot tubs were luke warm as best. It definitely had a shock factor getting in each time.

I wonder if thats because so many kids are left unattended and go into both the adult and kids hot tubs?
I think there is permissible heat levels for younger kids, and if they are invading the adult hot tubs maybe that is why?

I would hope there are not kids in the adult hot tubs. In my 9 cruises, I don't think I've ever seen kids in the adult pool or hot tubs, and I'd definitely be letting crew members know to handle it if I did. I'd optimistically assume that the hot tubs were just temporarily broken and would hope that they were quickly fixed! On the Wonder, the hot tub close to the smoking area seemed to be much hotter than the other one, and most people just sat on the rim there, where the other one was comfortably warm.

I was on the Wonder just this past Christmas out of Galveston and the adult pool was not heated. The hot tubs at the adult pool were lukewarm. We still used them daily though! :)

I asked a maintenance worker on the Magic how the pools were heated and his reply was that they are "really "not heated but they have the ability to add warm water when refilling them at the beginning of the day, when an accident happens or when "topping" them off during the day.

This matches to my previous experience where I could find the spot in the (adult) pool by the wall where the warm water was coming in, but in November on the Wonder it was the same cold water coming out that was already in the pool. While this technically may not be a "heated pool", I think most of us would call it that! :)
