I have totally fell in love with Crocs since last year and have not worn anything else since. Seriously. I have 4 pair of the beach in black, pearl, celery and light blue. I plan on wearing my pearl everyday (these are the ones I wear everyday now since they "go" with everything.

I just recently bought a pair of black Mary Jane Crocs for the cruise. I was hoping to wear these with my capris in the dining rooms. I am not one to dress up at all and totally do not "do" heels. So do you think these would be appropriate footwear? Will people look at me weird? And what about the pearl beach ones?

I wore mine to dinner last spring! My feet hurt from walking all day, and I just couldn't stand my regular shoes!

I haven't been on a cruise, so I might not know what I'm talking about... but I take 'cruise casual' as being 'business casual'.... so, I would personally not do it. But, I look forward to others' comments.

Mary Janes, in black, look not much different from leather Mary Janes. Why not??? Its not like wearing Mario's bright orange beach crocs!!!

I wouldn't, but to each his own. Just out of curiosity, the Wonder or Magic?

Why not. You'll look more presentable than "T-shirt, shorts & flip-flops guy". ;)

We saw a lot of crocs at dinner on the Magic - caymans, beach, mary jane and athens. Not on semi or formal night, but other nights... certainly acceptable with capris.

You're going to get a lot of different opinions here. I'd say semi-formal night is iffy but otherwise you'd be alright. I know I wore mine to dinner on CCL and nobody said anything to me.

I've seen people wear sneakers to a formal dinner. The way I figure it is, who am I to judge? They could have severe foot problems that they need a special sneaker for. I'd think the same of somebody in crocs. :confused3

My boys wore them to dinner. I personally, would not, however, you do see a bit of everything.

If you are okay with and think you look good then go for it. There are ALL kinds of people on the ship. Unless you go naked I seriously doubt anyone will have anything to say about it. Have fun.

i have orthopedic issues and have worn crocs for years whenever i can get away with it, still enjoy wearing a pair of dressy flats when "dressed up".

my family is in the minority i suppose...dressing for dinner is something we truly enjoy while on a cruise:confused3...all part of the experience. JMHO, if you wouldn't wear it to church; you shouldn't wear it to dinner.

they have written guidelines - somewhere; not sure if they really bother to enforce them or not though. Understand peeps have taken to wearing shorts, sure hope tank tops & flip/flops aren't next. Just not particularly appetizing to look at during during:rolleyes:

IMO, the black Mary Jane's would be fine, especially for the cruise casual nights.

I wore black maryjane ones to the "dress" night on the Wonder. I had no choice, I forgot my dressy shoes. I will tell you, not one person even gave me a look. I saw so many different things (including tennis shoes). The women in prom dresses (so tacky) got more of an eyebrow then my crocs.
To each it's own I guess.

My point, if that what works for you, then do it.

Interesting because I wear my Endeavor Crocs to church almost every week and I am one of the people standing for the entire congregation for at least 1/2 of the service. No one notices or if they do they don't care. I have 5 pair of Crocs, 2 pair of ballerina flats and a pair of black generic sports shoes. I would definately be wearing my Crocs

I would find nothing wrong with them, especially the girly styles (which to me the Mary Janes are).

Cruise casual is WAY less than Business casual - I absolutely wore things that I would NEVER wear for business casual in terms of capris/flirty skirts with cute t-shirts or button downs. I wore some kind of strapless sandal most nights that wouldn't be classified as a "flip flop" but I'd think that mary-janes would be perfectly fine.

I think the Mary-Jane style crocs are a totally different thing than the beach style. I'd probably look at someone a little funny (but then move on) if I saw them in the beach style crocs at dinner. But, the Mary Jane style look like Mary-Janes to me. I wear them to church, I wear them to work every single day too. Not only has no one given me any strange looks, but many people have commented on how much they love them, and ask where I got them. I wear them with skirts, pants, capris, whatever. Our dress code at work is more dressy than business casual and everyone is cool with me wearing them.

I wouldn't wear them on formal night.........possibly not even on semi-formal night unless I had extreme foot issues, but I'd say any other night would be fine.

Are Crocs acceptable to wear to dinner? YES.

Honestly, just about anything is acceptable as long as it's not cut-off shorts and a ratty T-shirt.

During our last cruise, we had a couple at our table who wore shorts, T-shirts and flip flops EVERY night to dinner (including dress-up night). Although I probably wouldn't dress down to that degree, I can honestly tell you that the couple received the same top-notch service the rest of the guests did.

So wear your Crocs and enjoy your cruise ;)
