App for cruise

I pretty much need to be dragged kicking and screaming for any APP that I need to use. At what point do I need to install the app vs logging in to a computer?

I know it is needed on the ship, but do I need it installed before then?

DH is the same way. You'll want to have it installed before you sail away and don't have access to WiFi/data. You can't download it after that. I think he takes it off his phone after every trip, so I always check in the morning before we head to the port that he has it downloaded and can login.

Edited to add - I don't mind apps, but I don't use it for anything until we're on the ship!

On the treasure I used the app twice, to find my dining rotation/muster station and to buy my placeholder. I used a paper navigator the whole time and was fine. I did have to go to GS to schedule a ship tour, easy peasy.

You will most likely want the app once you are on the ship, but you do not need it before then. If you wanted to download the app the night before you left, you could absolutely do that. Anything you might need to do on the app before you leave, you could do just as easily logged into a computer.

You’ll definitely want it on the ship. A computer works fine before then.

Just make sure you have it downloaded prior to boarding.

DCL is one of the few apps I don't delete as soon as possible. I like being able to log in and check out our cruise countdown.
When I'm having a rough day, it helps.

If you are the primary person doing online check in and reserving excursions, you may want the app as a back up in case your computer starts spinning and you can’t get in.

The app is nice for those random moments you get an urge to check to see if anything you want is available after your initial booking time (tastings, Palo/Remy/Enchante, BBB, etc). Besides that, as already mentioned, it's not necessary prior to embarkation morning.
