Is anyone here a private Usborne Book seller? I am looking to do something in addition to my in-home day care to make money for my daughters dance and music expenses, but have always been skeptical of the pyramid type businesses. I think I could sell quite a few books just by word of mouth and maybe could do a couple parties or book fairs a month. I have purchased their books before and they are good quality books. The start up cost is not that much and comes with books valued at more than the start up cost.

My question is if you have done this, is there a catch? Can you make a decent amount of money without recruiting and throwing tons of parties? Is it worth looking into at all? :confused3 Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone who hasn't heard of this and is interested I am not sure if it is appropriate to post a link, you can just search Usborne books and any website that lists them will tell you about the selling opportunity.

Thanks in Advance for any info:goodvibes:)

You can do on-line or in home parties.

My friend does and loves it. I think she can offer some incentives to new hostesses. You can email me triciabrenk@yahoo.com and I can forward your info to her.

I have a casual friend (not close enough to ask her how much she makes) who has been selling them for many years. She works pretty hard selling them, lots of fairs and contacts. she must do OK 'cause she is still doing it BUT she also has another part time job to so she can't be really bringing it in. I know not a lot of help sorry.

I am!!

I love the books and the company!!!

I tend to just do a little, to take advantage of discounts for my son's books and for gifts, but there are several others in my group who work more, and make decent money.

It is very "catchless" for this sort of business. - I think I had to sell $85.00 worth of books in the first three months in order to keep the kit free and clear. And there are lots of incentives to sell more. Now is an easy time to start, too, because of the holiday coming up. I'm sure you would have no trouble.

You can do home parties, booths at craft/church fairs, preschools (public schools and libraries are different) or just sell over the web.

I will PM you some specific comission info, and my phone number if you want to ask questions.

I'd love to have you join us!
