Anyone regret an inside cabin

It depends. I really don't like inside cabins and avoid them, but if this was a cruise I REALLY wanted to go on and there were no other stateroom options on that cruise (AND if there were no other alternative "similar-enough" sailings with verandah staterooms available), I might consider it.

We have done an inside room on the Wonder and the Dream. They are perfectly fine for the two of us and we are on the larger size of life. So as a solo traveler, you will be fine, you probably won't be in it enough to really notice too much of a difference. They are a bit darker, so keep that in mind.

Six Disney cruises, 3 inside and 3 Oceanview. Very first cruise we wanted inside (the wonder), figured we would go on more cruises and wanted to start in the least expensive room. I prefer a window for some natural light, so on our transatlantic and Panama Canal cruises we paid a little more to get the oceanview. Opted for inside for our alaska cruise because oceanview was such a huge price jump. And another inside on the fantasy to check out the magic porthole. As much as I like the natural light, that's not a deciding factor. We find the layout with a litte one is better in oceanview. Our inside cabins have the couch/kid's bed closer to the door, so getting coffee in the am was a test of our ninja abilities. As a solo cruiser, I would book the inside in a heartbeat. And for a short cruise, I'd book it even for my family.

This is extremely elitist. For some of us the only way we can do a Disney cruise is to get the cheapest inside room.
1) Elitist doesn't fit here

2) You're talking about taking a cruise...a Disney cruise at that (it's a very pricey brand to begin with). Methinks you're missing the irony in your own comment

3) John was just giving their personal opinion of which the OP asked about regrets or no regrets for an inside cabin, they said nothing about others.

If there was only an inside cabin available I too would not take that particular cruise, mostly for my motion sickness but also because I have slept in a room within a hotel room without windows and I didn't sleep well at all and also because I like the ability to have a little space outside in my own area. The sleep or no sleep is probably one of the most common thoughts people might have on the topic.

I think it depends on how you cruise. I don't love being around other people all day so we actually spend a decent amount of time on our verandah. We get room service breakfast, take drinks back to our room, etc so a verandah is important to our enjoyment as we prefer to eat outside. If you spend your meals and time outside the room, I think an inside cabin is just fine.

In truth, we are frugal *elitist* cruisers :duck:who cruise at a Concierge Level on another cruise line (MSC) that exceeds DCL Concierge Standards and in the case of our 2025 Easter Sunday Cruise is LESS than an Inside WISH that sails on Monday.

WISH inside @ $4,458

MSC Seashore Yacht Club @ $3,552

We no longer require pixiedust:

The cruise I'd like to take on the Wonder is mostly sold out, but a few insides are available. This would be my 12th Disney cruise, but I've never done an inside-mostly ocean views. It's only a 4 night cruise. Convince me I won't regret booking an inside. (I'm cruising solo)
Go for it! We mainly cruise ocean view. We cruised for the first time in an inside room on a 12 night cruise following our first cruise with a veranda. I was a little worried about the shock of going from veranda to inside. Did not even notice. We are only in our room to sleep. We enjoy so many areas on the ships. We were also a family of four.

We cruised on the Wish and my sister booked an inside cabin. My daughter and I had a veranda room and my sister had 2nd thoughts and at the port checked to see if a veranda room was available and they gave her a great deal...not very much more than the inside room she had paid for. She was very happy with the veranda room. We do use the veranda...we sit out there with a drink, I read my kindle....it was so relaxing. My daughter got up in the middle of the night just to sit out there and take it all in. I love the veranda and would never sail without booking a room without one.

I’ve done it several times and LOVED the coziness of the room. No regrets whatsoever!!! Go for it!

We have done Inside, Ocean View and Veranda. While I would love to always have a veranda, the inside was just fine. I've never regretted any Disney Cruise. ;)

I’ll not repeat what most others have commented on for why they prefer, don’t prefer or choose a particular style cabin for their respective needs. What I will say is that my family has done both and found each equally enjoyable. Many would argue that a verandah on an Alaskan cruise is a must do. I would simply point out that we just finished sailing to Alaska in the Wonder in early Sept this year for $3,100 in an inside stateroom on deck 6 and it was magical. The cost savings allowed us to get out and do excursions that we might have passed on had we gone with a veranda, so our focus was on not spending much time in the stateroom and maximizing our experience. We saw incredible glaciers, icebergs galore, over 2 dozen whales, a pod of orcas, and some of the most breathtaking views without a veranda. We also slept extremely well given the dark room.

All to say, I would do it again based on the type cruise I’m going on and how I plan to spend my time. In November of next year, I’ll be in a veranda on the Treasure because it’s a different type of cruise and we will likely enjoy much more veranda time.

One last tidbit, we stayed in room 6019 on the Wonder. It is one of a couple of dozen inside staterooms that you can only find on the Magic and Wonder where the staterooms are actually sideways. We loved walking into our stateroom where the couch is positioned with the bed to our left and the closets/bathrooms to our right. It made it seem like there was more space in the room. There are YouTube videos on these rooms and it’s worth a peek.

Good Luck no matter what you decide.

We did the cheapest inside (no split bathroom) on our first Disney cruise 2 years ago (6 nights on the Magic). We were a family of 4. No problems at all. Actually really liked how dark the room was, we all slept so great every night. We didn't spend that much time in our room and didn't feel like we missed out at all. Upcoming cruise on the Fantasy we booked an oceanview OGT only because there were no inside IGT rooms left and the OGT was cheaper than selecting an inside. I am 100% for the cheapest room and save money for onboard activities and excursions.

Our first DCL cruise was a three night in an inside cabin on the Wonder in 2004. I would definitely do a 4 night cruise on the Wonder in an inside cabin.

We've booked our first cruise and did an inside stateroom. We've done other cruise lines and inside. Never an issue.

One point of discussion is timing of booking. When we booked the verandah was only $600 more and at the time we decided not to- but then we thought maybe we would- but then our particular cruise had gotten popular and the price went wayyyy up. Our inside room is currently $1500 more if we were to book today and the verandah 3000 more. So it's not happening lol- so those reading on the fence just know timing is important too..

Some people, us included, prefer sailing in a verandah cabin. It isn’t elitist to want to spend your hard earned money on what YOU prefer. If you can only sail in an inside, you do you. If others prefer to only sail in a verandah, let them be them without judgement.
yeah, this. I'd rather not sail.. I'd rather stay home than having an underwhelming experience, imo. The same applies to other situations: if I have to stay at motels/hostels and eat at convenience stores in order to visit x or y country, I'd rather stay home a million times. I'm no millionaire or elitist, but if I'm going to travel I want basic comforts and experiences.
