Any problem with cell phone demagnetizing room cards?

In the past I've had problems with hotel room cards (not Disney) becoming demagnetized because they're near my cell phone in my purse. The desk clerk would have to "run them through" and refresh them. This happened twice on my vacation in Virginia last year at different hotels. Does this ever happen with Disney room cards? I have the perfect purse with a convenient tiny zippered pocket and my phone will be in another pocket near it. That card will be paying for everything, all day, so i don't want to have to run back to the POP just to have it refreshed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It happened to my son several times, so it can and does happen. All of us were able to charge on our cards so that part didn't matter. I am not sure if the key cards can be manually run through or not ( as a regular credit card can be). Perhaps someone else can chime in on that.

In our recent 3 trips to the World my room key has been in a small wallet right next to my cell phone in a little small purse and I haven't had any issues with it. The purse is just big enough for those two items to fit so they were quite close together. The cell phone was chirping all day from IMs, emails, and phone calls. Didn't seem to create an issue for me.

That's always a possibility of happening with your cell phone close to it. You also have to keep the magnetic strips away from other cards with magnetic strips. Don't put them together in a wallet or pocket.

.

We've had that problem in the past, which is why we always keep our KTTW cards in a lanyard holder now.

I've not had trouble with it being close to a cell phone, but I've had it happen with a magnetic snap/closure on my purse
