My MIL *loves* this ride. She'd do it 20 times during our trip if she could. Frankly, it creeps me out...and it creeps out my teenage daughter.

I'm not sure what it is about this ride, but it just gives me the willies. I think it's the doll children that are dressed like adults. I'm really not sure, but it wigs me out.

Is it just me and my dd?

Doesn't creep me out at all. I like it, but do sometimes get a headache from it...:lmao:

Well, your dd probably got it from being modeled by you. ;)

With that said, I doubt you're the only one with this opinion considering it is a running joke about people hating/being freaked out by the ride.

For me, it used to be the room with all the clowns hanging from the ceiling and stuff. I'm PETRIFIED of clowns. I don't know if they kept those during the refurb, but that part literally brought me to chills. I actually don't mind the song, but about 3 minutes into the ride, I'm sick of hearing it. I actually want to ride again soon to spot the new characters in the lands. My mom on the other hand, would rather be tied down naked over a fire ant hill than ever go back on it again.

We don't get creeped out on it and find it a good place to rest a bit. We always search for the various countries and try to not let the song drive us crazy. ;)

I'm with you.....I hate hate hate clowns. Now THEY freak me out !!! :lmao: No offense to The Boardwalk, but while you've got that freaky clown in your pool, I just can't stay there !!!! I can't be spit from a clown's mouth. It's like the clown from a Stephen King novel!!!!

As for It's a Small World, no it doesn't freak me out, not at all.....I love that ride, love the song... and I'm very bummed it's going to be closed while we're there. ( I wish they'd lose the marrionette's though....that gives me nightmares! :confused3 )

Took DS at age 3 on- he screamed and cried bloody murder about 30 seconds into the ride. He just kept screaming about the "dancing ladies". Yeah, those dolls are a little creepy. For others, it's just the song...

Have you read the book "Kingdom Keepers" There is a part in there about IASW. It doesn't creep me out, but I could see how it would after reading that book. :rotfl2:

If the dolls in It's a Small World creep you out, don't read Kingdom Keepers!!!

Now, more than ever, I am feeling the need to read "Kingdom Keepers"! :rotfl: I may have to pick it up over the weekend.

In answer to the question: no, I do not get creeped out by the dolls.

kingdom keepers was the first thing i thought about when i saw this post! now i find myself looking over my shoulder to make sure the dolls are not following me during the ride LOL!!

Costumed characters give me the creepy-deepies. Even as a kid, I didn't like them.

Doesn't creep us out. But we do get real sick of the song, which will now be stuck in my head for several hours.;)

Kingdom Keepers was the first thing I thought of too! DD & I both read that book a few months before our last trip. For us, it made IASW more fun, because we kept joking about what happened in the book.

I'm okay with Small World, actually I make my husband do it every trip :goodvibes. BUT, the Finding Nemo show at AK TOTALLY freaked me out! My husband teases me every time we walk by about seeing it again. Sorry, Disney, but no way ! Thanks for letting me vent!

Kingdom Keepers was the first thing I thought of too. I'm always on the lookout for an attack!

I find some of the dolls to be pretty creepy. I collect a type of doll, but the popular varieties (porcelain dolls, American girl dolls, etc.) really creep me out. Yet somehow the ones on the ride in Mexico at Epcot (I can't remember it's name!) don't bother me. It might have something to do with the song after all.

I can see that I'm going to need to read The Kingdom Keepers!! I checked it out for dd to read the last time we went to Disney, but it never got read.

I almost wish I could say that I influenced dd on this one, but the truth is that she is the one who said it first. I never really cared for iasm, but I did it anyway without saying much. Last time we were there, dd was able to verbalize what I couldn't put my finger on. LOL!

I think I'm going to need to read those books. Are they appropriate to read to a 5/6 year old, or would they freak him out?
