All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Has anyone been to ASMusic recently? Are they still offering all of the activties at this resort, including the movie at night? Thanks for any info.

Hi everyone! I am at the All Stars right now. We checked in to our family suite with no problem (we booked at the 97 expedia rate!). We were put into the Jazz building which is not my favorite location. Calyspo is MUCH better, but I am not complaining. As usual everything is well run here. There are a LOT of teenage dance troupes here and they are a bit noisy but not rudely so. I can remember being young once!:rotfl2:

They are having the activities by the pool, etc. Last night they played the movie Wally by the pool, and have an extensive list of things to do. Unfortunately for us, it is the arctic around here lately. VERY cold, at least for my south Florida family.

We are having a great time. The parks are not crowded at all. :goodvibes

another question, sorry....
If I use a code, but the code is only for Sun-Thurs, but we want to check in on Sat. how do they do this do they just apply the code to the days it can be used and we pay rack rate on Sat. or would they make it 2 seperate reservations and we may have to switch rooms? Just hoping they will just keep us in the same room and apply the code, but I've read and heard somewhere that they might split the ressie? Has anyone done this or know?:confused3
Thanks for any help!:)

I'm not sure which code you are using so I'm just going to tell you about my reservation to give an example. We are staying at ASMusic Feb 7 to 18. We are paying the regular rack rate from Feb 7 to 11, and got the 4/3 deal for Feb 11 to 18. At the time they were able to request that the reservations connected (because of availability) so we don't have to move even though we have 2 different reservation numbers.

I was there Jan 6-8 and they had activities in the afternoon with the lifeguards (not many kids though dozen or so) and a movie everynight.

Sounds great! I arrive on the 6th (friday) woo-hoo!!! can't wait. How are the suites? My first time at the ASM suites. Ok silly question ... how is the coffee maker and iron? Should I bring my own iron? What time do they show the movies?

I'm so glad to hear the expedia rate is working. I was kind of worried that this deal was to good to be true!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the All Star Music Resort. We had a wonderful stay there last Nov-Dec. So naturally I want to go back to Music this year, However, all the Standard Rooms are booked for our travel dates! Boo hoo! :confused3
So we're now booked at All Star Movies instead. But, I will have my travel agent check periodically to see if she can move us from one resort to another. I hope a Standard Room opens up soon! Wish me luck! Need some pixie dust!pixiedust:

I cant believe how fast time goes by. we leave on Friday!!! Any anythings anyone wants to share with me before I leave. Where can I access wireless? Does ASM have wireless access within the room? :cheer2:

ASMusic has high speed internet in the rooms, but it is not wireless (or free).

For more information on this, you can check out this link:

Have a great trip!

I've been reading through all of the posts and I'm getting excited!! I really think my kids are going to like staying here. We were at POR last time and this looks more family friendly, esp. with little kids.
Anyone have any tips or anything they want to share??

cool. thanx! do u know if suites provides dinnerware - paper plates, etc.? or shall i pack my own.

I just got back from my second stay in the family suites. I would request Calypso building if you want to be closer to the food and fun. There were paper plates and bowls in our room with plastic silverware, both times. The suites are really a great space for families.

They had a lot of activities around the pool including movies, games, karoke, dance contests, bingo, etc. The front desk staff is really great too. THe food court is always packed but there food was surprisingly good, especially breakfast in the morning.

I really can't think of anything bad to say! Its a wonderful resort, and I usually prefer deluxe hotels, but for the price the All-Star resorts are a great deal!:thumbsup2

Here's my tip: Depending on where you are in ASMusic, you may see parts of ASSports or ASMovies. Kids, being naturally curious will want to check those out too.

You can, since all of the All Stars are really one resort. If the kids get tired of the kids meals at ASMusic (didn't happen with our family, but I needed the change) you can go to one of the other All Star food courts. Don't forget your refillable mug -- you can use it at those resorts also.

also, somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ASMusic is the only one with pool activities, although the other All Star pools are really cool.

Does anyone know if there are connecting rooms at ASMu? I was originally booking the suite but got the free dining pin code. I figure we could save a few dollars by staying in 2 connecting rooms (party of 5) instead of the suites but CRO said ASMusic does not have any connecting rooms. Does anyone know if that is correct?:confused3

Are your park tickets from the 7-18 or are they on 2 different reservations?

Are you able to walk from All Star Music to the other All Star resorts? This is our first trip staying here and I was just wondering about that. Thanks so much!

Does ASMu have towels at the pool or do you have to take them from your room? I read on some review board that it did not and found that strange. We would use all our towels at the pool and then have nothing to use for the shower back in the room so I am hoping that is not the case. Anyone know?

That is not correct. There are connecting rooms at ASMU. We have stayed in them twice with the adults in one room, and the kids in the other.

If you have two adults and 3 kids, they will "guarantee" that you get adjoining rooms. The problem is that "guaranteed" doesn't always mean guaranteed. That's Disney for you. :confused3

Yes, there are no towels at the pool. You need to use the ones from your room, and call Mousekeeping for more. However, they sometimes leave a big cart full of towels on the 1st floor near the elevators, and people just help themselves.

Yes, they resorts are all close enough to walk from one to another. You can also use the pools and food courts at all 3 All-Star resorts.
