I’ve been using a Magic Band+ for the last couple of days and I love it. I did need to use my phone for the HM virtual queue, which uses a bar code the CMs need to scan.

You can use your MB for VQs as well. We used it for both HMH and Tiana's today.

Really? The VQ instructions in the Disneyland app said to show the bar code to a CM. It would be nice if they told people that MBs work...

Well, your mileage may vary. Some CMs will tell you that MBs work and some will say they don't work and some will say they don't know. When DH and I went to ride HMH last month with our virtual queue during our correct return window, we asked the CM if she could scan from our MBs. She told us without hesitation yes and then tried on each of us several times. She was very annoyed that it didn't work and apologized and asked us to pull out our phone which DH already had out as a backup. We had no difficulties before or after scanning into LL rides with our MBs that day. The CM also commented that she personally hadn't had any other guests try to scan in with an MB yet.

From our experience, it is similar to how they scan you into the park. They have to tap to enter a different screen on their hand held device in order to read/scan the MB.

Yep, she did all the stuff she was supposed to do. Just couldn't get the scanner to read. We experienced a similar problem back when they opened Mickey's Railway. Asked the CM who was yelling to have your phone out if MBs would work, was told yes. CM at the head of the line said no when we held out our wrists but another CM intervened and said yes then tried to show the "no" CM how to do it but also failed and asked to see our phone instead. I can't tell if the issue is technology, training, or both, but whatever it is, Disney is probably doing right for now to not widely advertise MB for virtual queue redemption.
