Official APH Rate Info for Universal Loews Hotel Properties

The pool is lackluster, is that a dealbreaker? You also can't pool hop from Surfside. If you weren't going to swim much these days, that won't matter. But it's still fine for a swim, maybe not as much if you were trying to kill a whole afternoon. Checking out on May 7, you can also pool hop to CB pool that day/night with your RP room key.

If this is going to coincide with your Volcano Bay day, Cabana Bay lets you just walk to the dedicated VB entrance. That's super nice.

The bus rides are similar between the two. Likely a shorter walk to your room at Surfside.

I haven't tried the food court at Surfside, however there is a Waffle House and some other off-site restaurants right nearby. In fact the Waffle House was closer to our room than the food court was, granted we were in the far corner of the hotel.

Normally for $30 difference I'd opt for CB, but with how you'll use the room... I think unless you will really use the CB pools or the VB path, Surfside wins out. Why pay more for a bed configuration that doesn't work as well for you?
I was planning on the Volcano Bay day on our checkout day which is the 9th so the entrance and ease of access back to the resort is a good idea when we collect our luggage to go over to the new hotel. And I think we would spend the entire day / or morning up until after lunch at the pools on the 8th.
I think we are going to go with Cabana Bay even though the layout isn't ideal. It's only for 2 nights and I think the amenities make up for it.
Thanks for your help and honest observations.

Just throwing this out there but Aventura has a kids suite room which appears to have a divider. Their Deluxe 2 queen rooms don’t have a divider but you feel more spread out. From there, you can pool hop to CB or Sapphire Falls (one of our favorite pools with a pool slide too) or wherever. It’s also walkable to the parks. We enjoyed our stay awhile back at Dockside and did like the set up of the family suite. The bus system was great but we just prefer walking to and from the parks and often catch dinner at one of the nearby resorts on the walk back. That’s just us though.

I did consider Aventura, but I'm not a fan of the curtain as a "divider" it may as well just have an open space, the price is also twice the price as Cabana Bay for a lot less pool wise. I think I'd maybe stay there if I was on an Adults only trip - it just doesn't look inviting for my kids.

So I have a question... I'm thinking about a very short last minute Mardi Gras trip next week and haven't decided whether I will definitely upgrade to an AP. If I book with an APH rate and don't upgrade, I know I'll have to pay the rack rate, which is what I'd originally be paying anyway, so nbd. My question is whether the rack rate I see now will be the same when I check in. In other words, is there any chance the rack rate will go up at all or am I guaranteed that it will be the price I see currently if I decide not to upgrade?

you're not guaranteed the price now. the price can change everyday. So you'd be paying whatever it is on that day.

Long time lurker here...it's been ELEVEN YEARS since our last trip to Universal (what have I missed?).

Finally have a trip planned for April 2026 and I see that AP rates already are posted for our dates . My question: if I book three rooms all on the same credit card and I have one AP, will I get the AP rate for all three rooms?

Yes you will; we did the same in 2024.

Anyone else having trouble checking Passholder Room Rates?

Edited to add:
Under PASSHOLDERS the Hotels & Packages is "unclickable" for me.

https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/tickets-packages/annual-passes/your-annual-pass
yes, I check my rates everyday to see if a better deal is available.
I use the link on the 1st page, it's broken at the moment.
Probably just the website down for a bit - it happens every few weeks but is usually back up fairly soon after I notice it not working.

If anyone is interested in staying at the 3 original premier hotels during the grand opening week of Epic, the rate is beyond excellent right now. All in the $300's and $400's.
wish my first week of May dates would drop to the 3s :(

Last minute rates are possible!
I was at Universal last week, original plan was one night at RP then two at Aventura. Due to predicted bad weather at home Southwest advised us to change flight home and we were all too happy to comply-the weather last week was perfect!
Really didn't want to do another night at Adventura so I stopped at the desk at RP was told the best they could do was the walk in rate for that day was $335-not bad but she advised me to check online. I found that the AP rate was the same as when I originally booked $263 !!! Boy was I a happy camper I just love RP and honestly figured it may be the last time I see rates under $300 after Epic opens.
