A quick vent about wayfair

So her answer was to inconvenience you even further? Like cancelling a credit card is so easy & convenient? I hope he gave her an earful after that idiotic suggestion.
Umm, it is. Just call the number and say your card was lost. Don't need to cancel the account, and they send you a new card with a new number.

I need it by Tuesday - Surgery is Wednesday. Ill be shopping this weekend for sure.
Amazon has several small bedside tables if you don't need a lot of drawer space. I am seeing delivery dates for this weekend and Monday. May not be your ideal but they are inexpensive and maybe can work short term. Just a suggestion

I've never had a problem with Amazon either until my last order. It is been pending shipment for 2 weeks and I have a feeling it's going to get canceled. I placed the order two weeks ago and it's an item shipped from Amazon warehouse by Amazon so there's that...
Have you contacted them? You may be right about the cancellation, but they could probably tell you what's going on.

He didn't. He was just happy to finally find someone willing to tell him the truth. She seemed to try to help in the only way she could. IMO, it's definitely a flawed business model.

Have you been charged? We went through the same thing with Wayfair. In our case, the TV stand we ordered hadn't arrived a few months, after the expected delivery date.

DH called them a few times and kept getting the runaround. He finally ran out of patience & kept elevating the call up through the chain of command. After explaining his situation repeatedly, he was finally able to speak to someone helpful.

It turned out that they didn't have any control over the item we purchased. They had no clue, when it would ship. She said she couldn't even cancel our order, because the payment went through the company that makes and ships it. They're actually a drop shipment company for the majority of their products. She suggested he cancel the card he had paid with, so they couldn't ship the item & charge us months later.
Yes, I was charged on Feb 25 - which is why I am so irritated that the shipping status hasn't changed. If they hadn't charged me, I would have cancelled my order a couple of days ago when I first realized it wasn't going to be coming in time.

I had foot surgery in 2021 and was 8 weeks non-weightbearing. I used a rolling cart that I probably got at Target or something to be with me where I was and rolled where I needed.

Different question--why do you need to stay downstairs for 6 weeks. As I said, I was non weight bearing for reconstructive foot surgery and I live in a 3 level house. I went up and down the stairs right away but on my butt! And I'm not a young woman nor in any kind of great shape! Just curious.
So, for the first surgery, the downstairs apartment wasn't available because we had a tenant there. so, I got upstairs on my butt and mostly stayed up there because I am too out of shape to stand up once I got to the top of the staircase. I had my husband and son lift me into the standing position so I could use crutches. Also, the shower situation isn't the best.

But, the real answer is that downstairs is the absolute perfect solution. It is a handicapped accessible apartment with a roll in shower with a shower wand and large enough for my shower seat. I can even do laundry pretty easily and when I go back to work, I can use the handicapped ramp with my knee scooter. There is a door connecting the apartment to the house so I can easily spend time with the family without traversing the stairs.

I know, I saw some too and if wayfair had told me a couple of days ago, I might have ordered one but the only ones I cared for were more expensive that the wayfair one and I didn't want to get stuck with two. I don't want to spend too much on this since, once I recover, the room will remain largely unused so it seems frivolous to spend a couple hundred dollars for 8 weeks' use.

I will share a positive Wayfair story though. I ordered a large cabinet to go under my TV. It is huge, something like 72 inches wide. I can't remember what I spent but is must have been around $700-800. When it arrived, the box was very beat up and as I unpacked it, I discovered that it was poorly packed - almost as if it had been repacked. One knob was missing and a door was out of alignment and wouldn't close, another one would stick and be hard to open. For $700 i expect the item to be perfect and I should not have to fix it.

I contacted Wayfair and sent pictures. They immediately sent a replacement and instructed me to do whatever I wanted with the original one (throw it away, donate, whatever). Well, for $700, I shouldn't have to fix a product, but for free... I bought four new knobs (so they would match) and pulled out my tools and fixed it up and used it in another room. It fit perfectly and looks great.

Wayfair is known to let customers keep damaged items, the same way Amazon lets customers keep wrong items sent. I’ve had great luck with CS for both companies. In this situation, I’d go on my credit card app and dispute the purchase, you can lock your card, cancel and replace your card, and dispute charges in seconds.

Sounds great. I didn't realize it was a whole apartment! I had visions of you just stuck on a couch in your living area.

We bought this house specifically for the apartment to move my mother into. It is awesome. It is about 1300 sq ft. It is literally a full one bedroom apartment with a nice sized kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry etc. We added a large porch with a covered handicapped ramp. After Mom passed, Mom's former caregiver moved in. She passed a few years later.

I found a bedside table! It's not the color I wanted. The one I ordered was light gray to go with my layered grey color scheme. But the size was right and it is growing on me. I havnt canceled the other one. I think that if the other one ever cones, I can repurpose this one in another spot (I already have one in mind)20230305_112852.jpg

Sorry if I missed it, but did you get the Wayfair issue resolved? We had a similar situation for a mailbox. We were finally refunded and a month later it just showed up. We are also like others and had two outdoor rocking chairs and a bedroom dresser come slightly damaged. They refunded us and told us to keep them.

My credit card has been billed but still no shipping information. I am giving it a little longer before I cancel and try to get my money back because I still want the gray one. But, at least I have something in the mean time.

If I end up with two, I have another spot for this one.

Of all places, I found it at Big Lots. I was expecting to find a cheap pressboard, "build it your self" one to hold me over but it is a Broyhill and good quality for the price - $260. I wasn't going to spend that much but had a "I deserve it" moment.

And, yes, that is a lot of bands :)

We have a fake fireplace that has wheels and looks like a mantle bought probably 12-13yrsago from Big Lots. It was extremely well made and is very heavy. Sometimes you find treasures there

My sister goes to big lots all the time. My niece had major surgery a few years ago & they needed an electric recliner for her at the last minute. They found a perfect brand name one at Big Lots. Good luck tomorrow!
