2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

We were there the last weekend last year (for the W&D half) and we didn't wait long at all and they still had glasses.

We too heard about the usual Disney chaos of the first few days ... But all the kinks were gone by the end.

Brian

Agreed - I don't think they ran out last year.

I ended up with 4 glasses from 12 visits and don't think I ever waited longer than 15 minutes - usually much less.

If I visit EPCOT more than once in a day - say, hopping to another park or going back to the room for an afternoon break and then returning - would that be counted as multiple visits or would I only get "credit" for one of the visits each day?

No. Multiple returns to Epcot on the same day counts as only one day.

Thanks for posting the VIP info MickeyM. Too rich for me, and days will not work. Plus, while I may have a glass of wine, I would not want to drink all day. At least for some, this would be a great time to spend a day in Epcot and enjoy all the pairings, meetings, and food.

Re: The VIP Ultimate Day at Epcot International Food & Wine Festival...

I can't believe I'm even considering this, but has anyone here done this VIP Food & Wine tour in previous years? I would love to hear your experience...

I'm taking a solo trip 9/18-9/23 and since it's just me, I can afford to splurge a bit. This will be my first time visiting during Food & Wine -- do you think this is worthwhile? (I see that the brunch alone is a $129 ticket...) I do have a Chase Disney Visa so I would save 15% if I booked it.

Or do you think it will be weird, since I am traveling solo, to have all those foodie experiences alone all day?

(Also, I have a reservation for the late showing of Club Villain on that same night.)

Yay or Nay? Would LOVE any insight or reviews... I've had many trips to WDW but never during F&W.

I haven't done this tour but if I were you and could afford it I would definitely do it. You're going to spend the day with like minded Food and Wine fans, enjoy a true VIP experience and I feel sure you'll make some new friends.

Agreed. We are already doing the What's Cooking With... event on Nov 4, but will be there with our two kids. The other things included in this VIP experience (e.g. alcohol tastings) are things that just aren't for the kids -- otherwise, we'd likely do it as well.

If it interests you, I would go for it!!! The other events, except for the lower priced demos, do not have the Visa (or AP/DVC) discounts, so that is also a benefit of this one. I'm going solo and have registered for several of the other events which in totality exceed the price of this one ....... (which is one reason I can't do this) :) Have fun!

I'll be there solo as well and I toyed with it but in the end I decided I like my freedom to wander around more than the structure of the tour. I'm just not sure it's worth the cost for basically a brunch, beer flight and 3 samples from booths. I can ride Soarin and FEA on my own, get a beer flight from a booth and go to the seminars offered at the Festival Center for less.

I would not do it if I couldn't stay for the Illuminations Reserved viewing area so that's a consideration.

Now I go solo every year and to me this is not worth it, but... I feel like the 'brunch" is way overpriced. Last year the chefs didn't show up until the end of the meal for their part and the rest of it was just sitting at a table eating breakfast. It was good but not $130 good LOL!

I have done a lot of the stuff solo so that wouldn't stop me. I did the D23 thing a few years ago that was kind of like this and it was a DUD so that has me scared off of this one :)

Information posted on Disney Parks Blog today regarding the Rocking Burger Parties: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...ty-at-epcot-international-food-wine-festival/

However still no information on Food and Wine Festival merchandise with only 5 more days until the festival begins. Hopefully people who will be attending the festival on Sept 14 will post some photos of the merchandise for us.

We will be there on the 14th so I will try to report back my findings but I really hope they release the info before then!

Can anyone explain the Remy scavenger hunt? We were there last weekend of F&W last year & it was over. I think my DS (7) might be interested.

Thanks! We were there in November & also ate at Moromoto. Yum.
So basically, there is a map & you collect stamps or pictures? Then get the pins? My DS was very tolerant & even tried quite a bit of the food at F&W last year, but he loves pin collecting so I'm thinking hell really enjoy a scavenger hunt.

You buy the map and the idea is that you put the sticker on the corresponding spot on the map when you find Remy in each pavilion. When you're ready (you can find all, one, or never even try)you go to certain stores, show the map (it doesn't have to be completed) and you get A pin (just one). I thought it was cute and fun. Enjoy!!

Where can I find information on the daily seminars? We will be there only one day on Tuesday, October 12. I would like to try do one seminar or tasting or demonstration. I know most things are on Friday and Saturday.
Allears.net is a great site for anything you could ever imagine, with more information and more subjective than the official Disney site.
