Character Interactions

I’ve not been to DL so I can’t comment.

As for one of the Tinker Bells being the friend of an 80 year old woman I’ve not heard that.

When Tink reaches the end of the cable, she smacks into what looks like a mattress being held by either one or two large CMs. Tink is still going at full speed and it’s a pretty abrupt stop. Having seen it live I’m skeptical that an 80 year old man or woman would be willing to do that. It’s very low tech.

Oh, what I saw took place about 7 years ago, hopefully they’ve improved the process
Well, she wasn't 80, but 70 years old:

I’m sorry, I meant the “Disneyland” TV show from the 1950s - Tinkerbell opened the curtains every Sunday night to introduce whatever the subject was that night. At DHS in One Man’s Dream that scene is usually part of one of the exhibits, shown on a 1950s TV screen. I think I’m probably a bit older than you….

Inappropriate touching is terrible. I always make sure my hands are visible because of this. On the last cruis & being adult male, I kind of got thrown when a couple princesses offered hugs. I said yes but it was one handed (one hand visible, other hand away from inappropriate areas). Looks kind of awkward in the photos but I'd rather look awkward than give anyone doubts of my intentions.

As an introvert I try to come up with a topic for the face characters but I think my body language sometimes just says "i want to say hi & get out"😅. They usually ask me about the cruise & I get tongue tied because it doesn't match what I had in my head. But at least I learned from Tiana (same cruise) that Naveen has graduated from mincing to running the restaurant when she's away. Also rest assured my topics would be appropriate (ex: asking Rapunzel if Pascal hides on the ship).
It’s ok to hug a Princess!!
Rapunzel is a very good friend of mine… and yes Pascal LOVES hiding on the ship!!

Apologies if you have mentioned this before, but I'm wondering are you on The Dream in Europe or have friends on The Dream in Europe? I am just off the 4 night Spanish cruise to Bilbao, I've just started my trip report. This cruise and the ones before have been somewhat challenging for the crew, in all departments. The cruise I was on was 90% UK people and I saw and have heard about so much bad behaviour from both adults and children. I'm not surprised by what you have posted, as from what I saw on my cruise, things like this would have happened alot.

This is not the place, but keep reading my trip report as I will write about the very challenging times for the crew and how I'm sure it was a very stressful cruise.
I wrote up the crowd situation on the fjord cruise but yeah I was pretty shocked at some of the behavior I saw.

I am used to being embarrassed by American behavior but after that cruise I felt ok. the British behaviors I saw were absolutely crazy. like the table next to us was every meme/movie about spoiled British children and clueless parents ever. I don't think the daughter ever sat down. I have two neurodivergent children but there's still a behavior expectation we set. I could take both kids to a Michelin 3 star restaurant no problem and we got to that place when they were toddlers and would absolutely take them out if there was an issue and we dont just give them phones/tablets - they know how to behave and that being neurodivergent isnt an excuse for bad behavior.

the cast was tired. we tried to be the chill people (and as a result we got treated like royalty/hooked all the way up) but yeah I felt bad for them.

Omg and now they have to deal with a full TA… TAs are workintense as it is… i nearly feel bad of being on the ship for that…

People have been talking about this in group chats… something has definitely changed!
At least the benefit of shorter cruises is that if there are problems, the CMs don’t have to worry for too long

Yikes, but also, not really that shocking, after being on my cruise, thats the level of passengers who were on the ship.

You need to Google Chav, both the word meaning and Google images.

I am calling my cruise The Chavtasic P&O Does Disney Cruise. P&O are a UK Cruise company, part of the Carnival Cruise Company. It was very much like what I see online about South Beach in Miami during Spring Break.
Is chav a synonym for American?

It is a pretty tough crowd if Mickey and Minnie are being felt up at work....
Says a lot about the direction our society is heading...
Really hope this isn't the new normal
Well considering we have football officials who are giving unwanted kisses on the lips to their female players. It seems the line between Main Street USA and Bourbon St is getting blurred.

Exactly this!! It’s like people have forgotten how to behave towards other people, or they no longer care if they behave inappropriately.
Someone told me that people have fantasies about the Princesses. Ok whatever. That doesn’t give anyone the right to do and say inappropriate things to young women, no matter who they are dressed up as

People suck.
What ship are you on? I love watching the day in the life of crew of cruise ships on YT.

How long have you been friends with the princesses?

It is like a true fairy tale, until a know, you add in the people.

All the posts about people not knowing whats ok to do around the princesses made me think baxk of my first cruises (w16) until then I rarely went to see the princesses. Def not at DLP where I was working at that time. Back then DLP was very much in the characters are out for kids phase. At wdw id occasionally go see them. Then I got on the ship and all the cast was so sweet and kind of made me (in a good encouraging way) go see them and throughout the years I started to appreciate my princess meets more and more. Made a little reel for princess week with some of my special memories with them in the past year. It is like day and night with my very first cruise hahaha

sorry maybe I misunderstood:
character performer I thought meant Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc
Face performer are the unmasked Princesses

However, I would presume it takes a lot more ummm "guts" or stupid to do something like that to a person when you can clearly see there face.
I could be wrong, i don’t really know but we know OP is a princess

No excuse at all, but I would imagine that people get caught up in the whole “character” thing and forget that they are still real people
