Character Interactions

While thats a nice idea, from what I saw on my cruise, passengers ignored CM instructions and just did their own thing. The only thing that would work is not having characters.

This actually happened on my cruise. The cruise before mine was the 4 Night French Cruise to La Rochelle. The queue for Stitch was 2 hours long and was absolute chaos. Stitch did not appear on my cruise.

Captain Jack was only supposed to be out for 15 minutes. I didnt queue, just sat on the seats at Preludes to watch. After 30 minutes he was still going and I had to leave as I wanted to do something else.

I avoided the Main Atrium on most days as the queues for characters were just insane and doubled around.

These European Cruises are a very different passenger type and they dont know or care about cruise and character etiquette. Google Chav, both the word meaning and Google images.
I heard about that Stitch set!
Reminded me of my mdas last winter where Ariel had a set on the balcony and the line made a U but with the se ond leg past the photokiosks up to D lounge

oh my goodness- these are real people! Helping to make magic for your vacation! Something has happened in this world. Some people have lost their patience and ability to discern right from wrong in action and in word. Not sure how we get back to treating people and characters with kindness.
All of our family has some kind of performance background (HS plays, work presentations, etc.) and we know that the magic of a performance requires audience participation and RESPECT.

Same with the shows at the WDW theatre. Just enjoy and accept . . . and don't ruin it for others.

If management wanted to they could end the inappropriate behavior by instituting a no contact policy between adults and princesses. And they could have hosts remind adults in line that conversations should be limited to character related topics and be child appropriate.
I think this may need to be implemented ASAP!!! I am APPALLED by the inappropriate touching and the asking of inappropriate sexual encounters!!! It is incredibly disturbing!!! I will be on the Dream in Nov and if I ever hear of this behavior, I will march my butt straight down to guest services and make sure something gets done!!! There is no place on Disney for people like that!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

It used to happen more often in the parks than on the ships, but there’s been a few things recently that have popped up 😞

I understand people are excited to be on the cruise and excited to see the characters, but they need to remember some social skills and basic manners.
My roommate who is also friends with a Princess was asked if her Prince was good in bed. Like seriously?
Wow. How did your friend respond?

It is a pretty tough crowd if Mickey and Minnie are being felt up at work....
Says a lot about the direction our society is heading...
Really hope this isn't the new normal
It boggles my mind to think about that. I don‘t know about Mickey and Minnie, but OP is a princess and I have heard of that happening to princesses before

sorry maybe I misunderstood:
character performer I thought meant Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc
Face performer are the unmasked Princesses

However, I would presume it takes a lot more ummm "guts" or stupid to do something like that to a person when you can clearly see there face.

LOL, that reminded me of meeting Tink in MK and telling her she’s my favorite because she opened the curtains on the Disneyland show every Sunday night - back in the 1950s…. She had a lovely smile!
Or how she "flew" toward the Castle each night and touched off the fireworks show!

Towards the castle???

A little different character interaction but a character interaction nonetheless.

Your post reminds me of an interesting discussion that took place on the DIS years ago that the pre show flying Tink was actually the friend of male cast members. Girls can’t do that.

As the father of two girls and grandfather of five girls, I disagree.

As it turns out I happen to be at backstage MK one night and watched as Tinker Bell landed and came down from the roof top. On at least that night it was Tinker Bell as we know “HER”.

On the Disneyland show! And I think on the Wonderful World of Color that it became.

I read some time ago, can't remember where but considered it reliable, that one of the frequent friends of Tink at WDW was an 80 year old lady.

Inappropriate touching is terrible. I always make sure my hands are visible because of this. On the last cruis & being adult male, I kind of got thrown when a couple princesses offered hugs. I said yes but it was one handed (one hand visible, other hand away from inappropriate areas). Looks kind of awkward in the photos but I'd rather look awkward than give anyone doubts of my intentions.

As an introvert I try to come up with a topic for the face characters but I think my body language sometimes just says "i want to say hi & get out"😅. They usually ask me about the cruise & I get tongue tied because it doesn't match what I had in my head. But at least I learned from Tiana (same cruise) that Naveen has graduated from mincing to running the restaurant when she's away. Also rest assured my topics would be appropriate (ex: asking Rapunzel if Pascal hides on the ship).

I’ve not been to DL so I can’t comment.

As for one of the Tinker Bells being the friend of an 80 year old woman I’ve not heard that.

When Tink reaches the end of the cable, she smacks into what looks like a mattress being held by either one or two large CMs. Tink is still going at full speed and it’s a pretty abrupt stop. Having seen it live I’m skeptical that an 80 year old man or woman would be willing to do that. It’s very low tech.

Oh, what I saw took place about 7 years ago, hopefully they’ve improved the process
