Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun!

Wow, you are getting really defensive about my opinion...weird. There is a big difference between remaking a movie, and adapting a book to a new format.
As a already said. To each their own. If people like it, then by all means go see it.

It's not your opinion that is the issue - I agree with you in that I don't prefer the live action remakes (at least not the ones that don't change-up the story a lot), but you said that you don't understand why they make them. It's pretty clear why they do it, but the blame isn't on Disney, it's on the general audience.

I know why they make them. I just think they are pointless. I’m not sure why my opinion on the subject is something that needs to be debated. It’s like I offended people by not liking something.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I love the cavalcades - much more than the actual parades. We rarely took the time to stake out a spot to watch a parade or to stand in line for a meet and greet. We saw more characters on our October trip than we had in probably several other pre covid trips combined. We also loved the random characters hanging out at the train station and other places around the parks. It was such a fun surprise to come upon them and they were just everywhere.

I know most people love the parades and meet and greets, though, and I imagine they will be back at some time. I just hope they still manage to keep the random, pop-up characters roaming around as well when they do.
Yes!!
I FINALLY caught Pooh catching butterflies the other day :)
So awesome for these things, I hope they continue in some capacity.

Well, they announced the Boo Bash around May 7th, which is about 3 months before the opening date of August 10th.

If they hold to a three-month announcement window, we could potentially hear something around August 8th for a start around November 8th.
Not OP, but thank you for a logical answer. Let’s just hope Disney is thinking logically 😆😆

Hey, like I said, I agree with you on the films for the most part, it's just that you use words like "no point" and "senseless" and when I see that I think it's important to realize that they are prevalent because they are successful. They are not pointless to many, many people, whether they are the people making the money from them or the people paying the money to see them.

I would like to stop our debate on the subject out of respect for MrsAP, however I will end simply by saying, I am sorry if my wording/opinion on the merits of the subject offended you. If you see worth in the existence of such things as live action remakes, then that is your entitlement. I know Disney likes the "sure thing" route. It's why so many movies are just rehashes of things that have been done before/ Sequels, remakes, and extended universes are all pretty much a no risk project. However this route only insure that unique and original story lines will never see the light of day because they aren't a sure money maker. I respect your opinion, and I understand what you are trying to say. Now, let all move on.

Hey, Tara, you totally didn't offend me - I'm not sure why you took it that way. If you look at my first reply to you you can see that I am also lamenting the over-reliance on remakes, I was just also adding some context as to why they do these things. To me it's interesting to discuss. I do wish more original concepts could come to light these days, but the realities of movie-making in the current market make that much more difficult. Why that is the case is worth exploring.

The answer to all of your questions can be summed up...

Disney just removed the Candlelight Processional webpage while I was looking at it. Good sign or bad one? Other webpages about the Candlelight Processional and holiday events still exist, but the one below is gone right now...

Epcot® International Festival of the Holidays – Candlelight Processional

Please let them be updating it. We love the Candlelight Processional so much! We will be there the first week in December and I'm really hoping it happens. If that doesn't put you in the Christmas spirit, nothing will. I won't even care who the narrator is, for once :goodvibes.
