Opening day strategies?

I just read on gothic Rosie that the parking structures will open at 6am April 30-May 2 ONLY. After that they will only open 30 minutes prior.

Hopefully the end up extending that some. I don't need 6am early, but something more than 30 mins. I can't imagine they're going to want an influx that large all coming in such a tight time space.

30 minutes is not even enough time to park and walk to the gates. Super lame!

My guess is they don’t want the huge crowds waiting long in the esplanade, so opening the lot 30 min ahead of park opening will help out a lot with that.

I agree. But then that really does create a backlog in that 30 minutes because it's going to be anybody who's parking. If they opened it earlier (not hours, but maybe an hour before park opening), they may be able to spread that out. But in the end practice may be different than what's published.

Us too, I was just checking out what they had open for breakfast! Did you purchase tickets as a package? I have already had an AP, so not having physical tickets right now freaks me out!

Now that I know they are opening up mickey and friends at 6am we are going to have to get there that much earlier!!!! It's going going be a long day, but a great one nonetheless!

Has anyone been keeping an eye on the weather? Currently 91 next Friday. Nothing indoors open, not even indoor queues, + masks! Yikes! I'm really hoping the forecast changes.

Now that I know they are opening up mickey and friends at 6am we are going to have to get there that much earlier!!!! It's going going be a long day, but a great one nonetheless!

I was hoping our stay at the Grand would give us a leg up on parking lot people. Ah, well.

Yep noticed yesterday when I was trying to figure out an outfit for next Saturday (forecast as 80’s). Going to be a hot welcome back to the parks for opening day .

Side note: I did boysenberry festival on a day where it was 92 in Buena Park. Obviously no indoor rest areas. Best thing is to sit and take breaks with water. Make sure the mask you wear is breathable(and follows Disney’s mask guidelines).

I'm slightly amused by the correlation between the 1955 opening day weather and the forecast for April 30th. At least no one will have to worry about their shoes getting stuck in melting pavement.

And by next Sunday it will be down to 76.. Crazy!

I thought the Tiki Room was going to be open. That will at least provide a short respite.

Adding to this since I was there that same day at Knott's! It was so hot

A cooling towel saved me. I was definitely hugely overheated and struggled until things started to cool a bit, but the cooling towel helped so much.

I'm also going to suggest sun umbrellas and lots of sunscreen for everyone! With social distancing, sun umbrellas should be easy to use lol
