I had a whole post I was adding to at the end of every day to post here about park experiences, crowds, wait times, etc. and it's been in "draft" and, dang it, I lost it.
Did AK/EP on Saturday. Heavier crowds on weekends but mostly manageable. Epcot was a lot busier though than AK and we didn't have time to do many rides at either park. Wait times weren't terrible but not short either. We've done both parks this year so we're OK with missing some stuff.
Monday was MK day and, despite being a holiday, we got a lot done and found the park not overly busy. Halfway through the day DD twisted her ankle and ended up needing a wheelchair (and later, a boot for 4-6 weeks) so that day was cut short at 4:30 after a leisurely touring day and we'd done everything we wanted to except Mine Train, Jungle Cruise, and Space. If we stayed, we could easily have gotten it all done and then some.
Tuesday was a planned down day for my teen's school and for me to work. DH took my oldest DD to urgent care.
Wednesday DD felt well enough to go to the park and we ended up keeping our DHS day (I'd planned to cancel). We did every attraction we wanted to except the Frozen show because the one we planned to go to was filled to capacity. If this is a must for your group, definitely leave extra time to get in line. We waited until 10 minutes before the show start and lots of us were being turned away. RnR was down I think all day (but we weren't planning on it anyway and we didn't do Aliens or the Cars show because no one wanted to. I think we did everything else though.) Had lunch at Sci-Fi which was fun. DH took DD back to the resort while I stayed with DD14. DH got DD settled in and came back for our post park closing reservation at Oga's at 7:55. I checked in at 7:35 and they were running late and didn't call us until about 8:05. I think there were 3 families left in Galaxy's Edge when we left and got personal escorts to the edge of the planet. Weird seeing it totally empty. I've been at Oga's past closing before, but this was just .. so different! Oh, during the day, most wait times were inflated at this park. Slinky posted 60, but we waited 30 despite the line starting at the end of TSL. If it goes out of the land, I'd wait.
One thing though and not Disney related. If anyone traveling now is planning to jump to Universal and wants to do the Harry Potter lands, I HIGHLY recommend not going on a weekend. Even without a pandemic. We were able to get on the virtual queue for Hagrid's and ended up dropping it as DD14 wasn't liking the crowds or and even with a return time, Hagrid's line extended out of the land. Poor TM at the exit of Hogsmeade where it meets the Lost Continent was shouting, "We're still in a pandemic people - six feet apart!" Problem was there was nowhere for people to go...we scooted out into Seussland. TMs are doing a great job, but I think mgt needs to find a way to manage capacity in the HP areas (we didn't even bother going to Diagon Alley) as this was the same in August, but this month was worse. The rest of UO parks were busy, but no worse than Disney on the weekend.
Tomorrow is back to MK and we splurged for a night at the Contemporary after our flights were changed from Sat afternoon to Sat night, so we'll spend Sat at MK too.
