Anyone going to watch the royal wedding ?

I didn't say he's the royal heir. I said he is a royal heir. But maybe that's still wrong. Truth is I don't care enough to check. ;)

Isn’t anyone anywhere in the line considered A royal heir? In which case, you would be correct? I mean yeah it’s not likely but he is still in the line. Much like Prince Andrew was or is or whatever. (Lol way too much math for me to figure it out)

And actually modern etiquette really doesn’t have hard and fast rules on second weddings. Its more of a tradition thing and even then, like you said it’s his first wedding and as a Prince his wedding should be celebrated.

I mean come on, how many women out there really “should” wear white on their wedding day? I just don’t believe that even the Princes have a secret way to find all these virginal women. Lol.

The Palace has now sent out an OFFICIAL announcement:

Prince Charles will now walk Meghan down the aisle. Meghan herself, asked Charles to do this. :thumbsup2
The report I just heard on local radio said he's walking her part of the way and she will walk the rest of the way on her own. Seems very fitting.

I like that Prince Charles is walking her down the aisle! Since she doesn’t seem to really have a loving, close family it seems to signify that she is truly becoming a part of the royal family.

Oh that's nice, a good way to deal with it. Her family seems terrible.
The thing with saying she always "cared for" her father is off. It does come off as these some type of disconnect there.

So did you also skip the Disney movies with princesses in them: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Merida, and Mulan?
Methinks I'm older than you.
Out of the 9 characters you mentioned only 2 of them existed during my childhood:rotfl2:
Errrrr my fav Disney movie is "Fantasia" and the closest to princesses in that film are the ostriches and hippos;).
I liked the animation in Snow White and Cinderella but not the "Disneyfication" of the original fairy tales.

A local bakery is selling single serving cakes, made to be similar to the royal wedding cake. They are lemon sponge cake with lemon curd filling. I'm stopping, after work, to pick one up!

TC :cool1:

I like that Charles is walking her. Her family is really wacky it seems. The dad apparently had a heart attack recently but was going to check himself out to go to England. Then he had surgery. I can't believe he thought his dr.'s would approve that. I do kind of wish she would walk down alone. She seems so independent and mature. I think if she really wanted someone to walk her down, her mom or Charles were good options. I can't wait to watch tomorrow!

Am I the only person who wonders how reports come out, especially super quickly, about precisely what make, model and price various clothing items members of the royals wear when seen in public?

I mean I understand it if they were to wear a specific gown that was shown by a designer on the runway or if they were to wear a specific jean or sneaker that's easily identifiable by a label or logo, but I just can't believe how every dress, every sweater, every coat, every shoe, etc., etc. etc. is precisely named within no time. Am I just that completely stupid about fashion and clothing in general? (It's okay, I asked.)

Press releases are made available to the royal press office (or whatever it's called) which is then given to various news agencies. Remember they have the guest list in advance:).

I'll watch for the millinery when pics become available. Prolly also the wedding party's attire.

I'm talking about the clothing of the members of the royal family anytime they're seen in public, not in regards to the wedding.

Kate is often reported as wearing X dress costing X, X coat by X designer costing X, X shoes by X designer costing X -- and the report states they're all sold out. They even report that stuff about the children's clothing.

The royal press office works year round as do most governments' press offices of the world. I can generally find out what the First Ladies of France and US are wearing on the day as well as what the menu is of a state dinner, etc.

I guess I simply can't even feign that level of interest in those matters.

Have no plans to watch. To each their own but I have never understood why this would interest any American. British I can kind of understand but not Americans.

Funnily I would say that Americans tend to be much more interested than Brits in royal weddings. Our tourism industry thrives thanks to foreigners visiting to see our palaces and the like. I’m British, living in the south east, and most of us have absolutely no interest in the upcoming wedding!

We Americans are complicated like that.

I think we can appreciate the majesty of it all while simultaneously loving our independence from the monarchy.

To be honest, the Queen and the monarchy have absolutely no power or influence in practice. They’re there really just for show nowadays. Although they are funded by taxpayers this is surpassed by what they bring in with tourism. :)

Do you really believe for one second that she ever planned to have her father walk her down the aisle? He and the rest of her family, except it seems for her mother, are an embarrassment to her. It seems that she left them behind a long time ago.

I don't have any interest in this, but I do appreciate that the guy (Harry right?) is quite involved in endangered species conservation.
