Bummer. We had an AK taken from us too. Similar contract except no points in 18. After they took that one, we tried OKW as we like that resort quite a bit too. That one passed in 10 days.

Not if you like OKW. There are resale extended contracts although less frequent. And not hugely more expensive than non extended surprisingly.

I agree if you buy it extended that is great, but if you buy one expiring in 2042 and want to see about extending it probably too expensive to do that way. I do like OKW. Only one I have been at. Now that I bought one direct I can stay anywheres for the first time use as Disney helps to book. Where would you recommend?

We agreed on 90/pp. Perhaps it was too low for Disney.

Can you use the welcome home to book any resort or just your home resort? I posted yesterday about this welcome home perk in a fb group and people started ripping me to shreds. It’s was ridiculous

That's only for direct purchases but it may or may not be your home resort as it depends on availability.

That’s good to know! We started this dvc road in February with 50 direct points. I don’t know why, but I guess I just assumed it had to be at your home resort!

Yes OKW is awesome imo . They don’t offer the extension directly from Disney anymore. I read that it was discontinued last year and too expensive imo You can stay anywhere whether you buy direct or resale (DVC properties). My top 3 faves are
OKW
BWV
BCV
Everyone has different tastes so it’s really up to eaxh person to find their fave. Now you can . Enjoy!

You have a great contact. Best of luck. We are going to make an offer on a loaded Polynesian contract. It's priced very well. I'm starting to wonder if there's any chance with these week priced contracts. Polynesian is much more expensive but I was starting to get worried about transportation issues at AKL and the seven month window. I think as my kids get older they would want to be closer to the action.

So disappointed. This is the 2nd contract we’ve had taken in 2018. Ugh!!!! I stupidly thought that this one had a decent shot since it was essentially stripped.

Someone told me for any resort. Can't believe people are ripping you to shreds. How else are we suppose to learn without asking. I have found this site with helpful people and all really nice.

Sorry. It is nearly $100 less than direct, though, so I guess it's not terribly surprising. Especially with the seller covering closing costs, that's really a steal vs. $235pp direct.

@ScubaCat is far far more qualified than me to speak on this, but I've read in several places DVC likes to see buyers pay current year MFs as a gauge of your willingness/commitment to pay annual MFs. It obviously causes them a lot of work when a member doesn't pay them. I'm not saying it's determinative but I've read it's a factor when DVC is deciding on ROFR.

It would be very uncommon to pay MFs on points that weren't there. DVC sees that all the time in ROFR.
