2018 Christmas Vacation Planning

Woohoo.....!!!!!!! Was able to get a reservation today at BWV for NYE. It's going to be amazing watching NYE fireworks at Epcot and then be able to walk back to our hotel. So excited. Did our first Christmas trip last year, and this will be our first NYE trip.

I'm just waiting for my ex to confirm my holiday dates with dd. trip #7, trip #3 the week of christmas and trip #1 just dd and I! I saved all last year for this because she's always had a christmas trip and i couldn't do it last year myself.

We are flying in from the UK on 16th December, boarding Disney Dream on 17th until 21st, and then 21st to 31st will be at WDW. Can't wait to be in MK on Christmas day again!

Claire :)

We will be returning to a FW cabin December 4-8th! I’m so excited:) Christmas decorations and WDW just don’t compare to anything else in the world for this family

Hoiday discounts including the highly coveted Free Dining should be arriving some time around March.

The last time we recieved a special offer code was 2011(?). We booked a Value Resort and some time afterwards we recieved an email with an offer to upgrade to a moderate resort for an additiional $20 a night. Needless to say, we took full advantage! Unfortunately, I thnk the days of those kinds offers are long gone. Has anyone had a recent experience recieving a special offer code?

I get the pin codes once every few months. I got one for travel in February but it's no better than the current discounts that are online right now. I think you're probably right. The free dining isn't even the same anymore. I'm gonna keep an eye out and when I am back property I am booking my bounce back trip. Once I heard how good some of the travel deals were I feel like that's a no brainer.

I go the last week of November/1st week of December every year. It’s the best time to go in my opinion because I love the decorations and the cool weather and all the holiday offerings. Did 11/26-12/9 in 2017 and doing 11/25-12/5 in 2018. I cant wait, I’m already going through DW withdrawal.
this is the week I'm planning to go. When you say cool weather, in your experience how cool is cool?

Not cold, usually in the 70s. I’m just saying cool in comparison to the rest of the year in Orlando, as in it’s not sweltering. This past trip though was warmer than usual I think. It’s always been warm enough to swim, and the pools are all heated anyway. In my opinion it’s perfect weather for exploring the parks. Sometimes the nights can get a little cool though. Dress in layers and pack clothes for warmer days and cooler nights.

we just booked for Dec 19th-26th. We've been during Christmas time before (and loved it) but this is first time that we'll actually be there on Christmas day. Very excited but know it will be crazy busy. Already starting to think about Christmas day dinner options - any recommendations anyone?

We did Liberty Tree Tavern for a traditional Christmas type meal.

I don't know about you but l love how people make fun of me for booking and planning so early. People don't realize how booked up Disney gets during the holidays, l love doing the planning as much as going.

It is NEVER too early to plan & book a trip to Disney! Planning is part of the fun!

We're staying for a week at Universal and doing MVMCP one night and a full day at Sea World. It's frustrating because I want to PLAN--and there's apparently very little need to plan.:P

We did 2 US days this past Nov/dec, and beyond planning what day to do each park, there wasn’t much planning involved. We just wandered around and did what we wanted. Considering staying one night at US at the end of our next trip do we can take advantage of 2 days of their express pass.

We are going this Christmas but we have to finalized the exact dates. We are driving and thinking about leaving the 22nd so arriving sometime on the 23rd. We are staying off property probably until the 1st or so. We will be doing 4 days of Disney. Any suggestions on where to eat on Christmas day outside of the parks? Really hoping to do the Candelight Processional on Christmas Eve with the dining package, maybe eating at Teppan Edo. Looking for any Disney Christmas advice/ pointers!

OMG this thread makes me want to cry! I'm going back in June this year and June next year (already booked DVC for this year and paid deposit on DVC for next year), but having finally done Disney at Christmastime this past December, all I can say is I envy the heck out of all of you going this year! It was such a wonderful experience!

My two cents: definitely do Candlelight Processional dining package! And Biergarten is a great choice, IMO. It's one of the more affordable options for lunch/dinner, and the show they put on inside is Christmas themed and wonderful. Great food too. We loved it.

Also, do the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam dessert party! I was skeptical about this, and it turned out to be one of the coolest things we did! My 70+ year old parents loved it, and so did I! You really feel like a bit of a VIP, it's great.

And make time to see IllumiNations with the special Holiday "Let There be Peace on Earth" tag at the end. It's both beautiful and explosive! That finale is something else! Wow!

Aww...have fun everyone!

We have booked for the 2nd week of December, wanted the first week but the SEC Championship game is on Dec 1st and we are not taking the kids to Disney and it is tradition to watch the Game together, So we had to settle for the 2nd week of December. Chose Pop Century over AOA....
